Yes, the dictionary says dinner is a main meal taken in midday or in the evening. Nonetheless, how you use it much depends on where you come from.
As far as I know, Eton College (Price William was a student) and Marlborough College (The Duchess of Cambridge was a student) both have Michaelmas and Lent terms.
