- homework every week
- even though it is 'bilingual', the English teacher is more like an assistant (i.e. basically it is mainly Cantonese driven)
- the kids speak Cantonese to each other (i.e. not a very good environment to practice English if that's what you are looking for in so called 'bilingual' environment
- small campus
- teach / force kids to recognize very difficult Chinese characters
- more and more result oriented (i.e. focus on training kids for primary school interview etc instead of focusing on teaching and learning as a way to promote their LH brand)
We speak English at home so our kid can speak fluent English. But most of the other kids, after half a year in a so called 'bilingual' environment, are still below average in terms of English level (ex: some of them say 's' as 'as-si', 'fish' as 'fis-shuu' etc). Even my son picked up a bad accent or two which we have to spend lots of time to correct him at home (ex: 'milk' -> 'miuk' now while it was perfect before he went to school).
If you are looking for 'results' and 'learn more difficult stuff', then maybe it is good. But say if you are looking for a good bilingual environment, then you will be VERY disappointed. |
