原本諗住喺屋企樓下讀RWI, 點知執咗！喺香港RWI 只可以喺centre讀，但我喺英國買teachers full set 都只係385pounds (hk$4000)!! 我自己8歲去咗UK讀書，應該算是native speakers😆 阿女3歲，我又有時間自己教，大家覺得可行嗎？

當然可行，之前都有朋友話想買教材自己教，我都想自己教，但可惜我自知英文唔好，只好個個月俾千幾蚊個仔出去學

其實你自己英文本身好，又有時間教教個囡既話，即使唔用RWI都一樣可以教得囡囡英文好好！

I teach my own gal too and also being volunteer at TUNG Wah group for SEN children. In the coming school year, I will let my elder gal being volunteer too ( serve as community service for High school application too). But I am not using RwI

我讀書時無學過phonics, 當發現阿仔學極都得，我決定自己去british council學10堂phonics for parents, 然後自己教，估唔到阿仔進步得好快，k2 由ort stage3 開始讀，到k3 頭已讀到ort stage 9.

所以我結論是，家長學家長教比上堂仲有效率，又省了不少錢。

Can you share where can I buy the teacher set? I am interested in teaching my kid myself as well.

How is your progress with teaching RWI yourself canteen31? I am doing similar thing with my 3Yr old boy right now yet I had started with letterland now and wants to switch to RWI later. I didn't know much about RWI before I decided to go for Letterland but just thought Letterland is easier with them with the songs etc. Planning to try combining RWI blending in once he is more familiar with some of the Set 1 sounds. Hope I can get as far as possible without seeking external help if I can manage. How do u following the teaching materials you got, are they difficult to use or any difficulties encountered?

Hi everyone, just wanted to update everyone a bit on progress.

The books can be purchased in Oxford press in UK, I'm not sure if they will send to hk though.

They've got new editions of RWI coming out soon (July I think?)so I would suggest everyone to wait.

I've gone through the basic letter sounds with her, she will be 3 years old in 2 months time and she knows all the letter sounds already.

I've only started the system, easy to follow so far.

That's encouraging. My boy is 2.5 years old now and think it is about the time for me to sort it out between Letterland or RWI. Seems RWI is more recommendable?

Hello Canteen31, you must be doing well with your girl! She's only 2.5yr yet can recongnise all sounds! So did you get the full RWI set? If you were to choose which items do you think is most useful in the set? Any difficulties that you encounter? I noticed that my boy can say the sounds quickly if he looks at the Letterland pictures but will sometimes forget or need more time to think when he sees the pure letters alone without the Letterland pictures.

The system is easy to work with so far. The flash cards are very good, I play games with her using the cards. I would say it's easier to use/learn RWI with my girl because I speak to her in English only. I also used "your baby can read" system with her since 1 years old (but forgotten most of the words now). I've only started RWI, so I may not be the best person to give further advice yet

我想請問你是否買咗"Read Write Inc: Phonics: One-to-One Phonics Tutoring Kit" 果set?
I note there is another set named "Read Write Inc.: Phonics Teacher's Kit Easy Buy Pack" which consisted of flashcards (or the like); do you know if this set is useful as well?

先講一講我自已教RWI, SKIP左 writing 那部分, 因為是細B, 又當時主力想佢學好phonics先。

我在英國牛津網直接訂, 當時訂幾多貨都係收 6 or 8英磅運費, 我訂Read Write Inc.: Phonics One-to-One Tutoring Kit Professional Development DVD (約130分鐘)and Handbook (約 hkd1500), 這是家長用的, 2016年9月新版不包DvD，但DVD 非常有用，所以買舊版好D。

提一提如買這套就不用再買Read Write Inc. Phonemes Pronunciation Guide DVD 了, 因One-to-One 的DVD 內已有全隻Read Write Inc. Phonemes Pronunciation Guide DVD !

還訂了以下教材, 是比小朋友用的:
1)Read Write Inc.: Set 1, SET 2& 3: Speed Sound Cards
2)one to one progress book1 ~4
3)Red Ditty Book 10本,
4) Get writing ! Red ditty book 10本((10本紅色, 非常有用,配合Red ditty book用的

5) Green Story Book 10 本, 黑白版平好多(已無用 get writing ! 了)
6)之後只教她 speed sounds 2 , 3, 間中讀下RWI Colour Story Book(黑白版 )
