我發覺無咩準P1家長上來講野喎.

我囡囡讀個班無同學升同佢一間小學, 而且多數去傳統, 係咪因為st.margaret 收生少的原故?

係地的同學仔多數去边類小學? 好似大多家長都較喜歡傳統小學咁, 我個女唔係幾肯做功課,

所以撰st.MARGARET, 希望取個平衡。係地點會撰呢間學校?

My girl's classmate mostly go to traditional school but i knew around 4-5 go to TSL and at least one go to LMC. We can meet again on July 9. Have u pay for school fee?

My daughter will also study SMC in the coming Sept. She come from Kentville Kindergarten. Most of her classmates will go to traditional school like St. Francis. We have paid the school fee already. We chose SMC because it could provide good English speaking environment and have foreign langugage to learn. Is this the same reason you choose SMC for your kids? Which kindergarten is your kid coming from?

My daughter will study at SMC in the coming Sept. I have released the seat of SFA, Tak Ngai, Kln Rhenlish, LMC, CKY...Most of her girl classmates have chosen traditional school, such as St. Mary, Kln Tong,GH, DGS, St. Rose. I dont have friends choose this school too.
I choose SMC because of the english environment, good location for us and one dragon system.
I think my daughter is OK to study at traditional school, even study one grade higher. She like reading,dictation, with high concentration ability and like to learn PTH very much. What we wanted is that if she is being push to learn faster, it is better by ourself according to her own pace, instead of by a "push school".
I want to give them a balance of life, I don't want to spend overwhelming amount of time at P5,6 for the exam for promotion to secondary school, just like a exam machine.

i guess my daughter can study traditional school cos she likes to read, do homework, and can work under pressure. For us, we just want them to be happy kids ( i have 2 daughters), have motivation to learn. Agreed with you, i dont want them to study just for good exam result.
My younger one will be K2 in coming sept, hope she can go to the same school 2 yrs later.

我囡囡黎梗9月都番SMC,囡囡同校都有個女同學都入咗,佢地都黎自傳統KG,但係佢地既英文都係好突出既,佢地兩個今年高班都攞咗"品學兼優獎",其實佢地都係谷得既,寫字串字完全難唔到佢地,因為佢地間KG既程度都比出面深,上傳統小學一定冇問題,但係我地兩個媽咪都覺得上傳統小學一定學唔到好既英語,我自己都係BAND1英中讀,讀埋U都係覺得自己英語唔夠好,所以好想囡囡英語能力好,加上我囡囡對英語有濃厚興趣,而且佢又可以輕鬆學習(呢兩年谷佢,大家都覺得辛苦架)所以我認為SMC對佢係好適合既(最緊要佢自己都好鐘意)!講真依家傳統學校質素已經唔同以前,又勁多新移民,好多勁人都去晒私校/直資小學!就算知道可以名列前茅,我都唔會選擇去讀~

Primary students had a good show today but the audio arrangement really needed to be improved. That wasted the kids' effort, I believed they had practiced a lot but we could not listen very well.

Very happy to know that, for my route, the bus was first registered on June 2011. It is a new car and we just need to get on the bus on 7:40am, they can are no need to wake up so early

it is by no way in vicinity. We are in Sham Tseng, last stop for castle peak road/Tuen Mum. The whole journey is on highway and there are two bridges to choose.

My school route is so early at 6.45 a.m. as i am at the 2nd stop. so I may choose to send her to school by myself so i only have to leave home after 7.30 as i know the bell is at 8.30am only.

the schoolbus staff told me that the bus will arrive school before 8am, i am wondering why they have to go so early?

School bell is rang (?morning assembly or first lesson) at 8:15 everyday as mentioned in the school letter.

For P.1, you won't know until school year start. You just order the PE uniform and the vendor will deliver the right one to your child in the first 1-2 week

Maybe, you can buy one more set. From the experience of my eldest son last year, my kid wore PE uniform four days a week after first two weeks.

Therefore, I bought 3 sets of PE uniform and 2 sets of school uniform for my younger son who will study in this coming September and he comes from KV.

I found the girl school dress has double layer and might be very hot during the hot weather.
I thought (seen from the forum) that school dress was not frequently wear so I bought one piece only.. ha ha.

Did you turn up at 2/7, most of parents including me had bought school dress, PE pants, sports shoes and white cardigan with stocks in hand. School shoes were asked to pick up at 27/8 and PE T-shirts and grey cardigan were asked to be collected by students themselves at school after 1/9. So if you don't make any fitting or order before, you'd better ask the provider to buy at ? their shops.

I did turn up to SMC on 9/7, but i only bought 1 set each. at that time, it is very hot and my girl lost her patience to try so many thing. i think i should buy one more set for changing.

for the dress, it is so hot with 2 layer, my girl is afraid hot so much

perhaps i will not put undershirt for her.
for the P.E. short, the material is so thick, my god!

Do u think so?

right, no need of under dress for girls but she need short pants when dressing in school dress instead. I told my daughter to keep her manner as well as she will have "boy" classmates.

I suppose the girl need to wear "underdress" for the summer uniform? My daughter can't stand for hot weather as well... then was it a mistake to buy the cardigan for her so soon??!
Don't worry, Miss_N, my daughter is very boyish and she likes playing with boys more. Your daughter must be much nicer. hehe

I think the material of the P.E. short is too thick and too long ( M size ) , they might feel hot.
I will make it shorter.... as S size is a litte bit tight but M size is too long

it is much easier to make the waist wider instead of making the skirt short.

i also met this problem. what i did is to buy S size, cut a little bit on the inner waist, cut the elastic band and connect a short elastic band, then sew back the hole of the inner. then my girl wears nicely.

p.s. the short elastic band is from the old trouser, no need to buy, it is very easy as i always did that for my daughter's trousers.

- 听李副校長講, 第一個星期係適應周, 只係返上午, 學校有無信通知返放學時間? 上課時間表?

我今日問咗學校書簿嘅尾數，每人不同，我書簿全買成$1541.7 T.T，可以俾小朋友嗰名佢check，可以pay by cash or 支票，當日0900-1700時都可以到學校，亦會派書，可能會派一啲9/7訂咗而未有嘅校服如校鞋(我唔肯定)，27/8就會有subject briefing, 之前會收信通知。希望資料對各位有用！

I remember the teacher told us to spare 27/8 in the meeting in May. However, they said there might be changes so we should wait for a letter about that. I guess it is confirmed now?!

I also think that "little" amount won't be for the whole year. You know the prices of the textbook is super high nowadays. :(

dear parents,
i just called the school and they asked me to call the bookstore #2562-2642 and give yr kid's name, they can check out the balance. They said you can pay by cash or cheque when u collect the books on Aug 1. The balance for mine is HK$1541.70 including the deposit of $500, the total for the whole year is $2041.70.
Time for collect the books : 9:00am - 5:00pm.....i will definitely bring a suitcase with me ^^

我都係1/8去唔倒, 打左好多次電話去齡記, 佢地好麻煩,又話唔得, 又要我發傅真, 又要我入數, 最後我係電話度講度好怒氣佢先叫我帶收剧和尾數(cash)去書店攞書, 尋日去到又話重有一本音樂書未到,結果我全部都無攞, 遲d一次過先攞。

呢間書商真係好有問題, 制度彊化, 初初又話唔收票唔收cash, 一定要我入數, 最後比我鬧完就咩都得, 係咪自己攞呢哀。

hello all,
i bought all textbook (total 41).
i asked my maid to collect the books yesterday and found out that the bag has 39 books in when i got home last night.....2 are missing. The bookstore didnt mention about it and i call them today and they havent call me back.....did u guys got all the textbook? no books missng?

Don't worry. Book shop still owed us two books (phonics fun e-book). They had high-lighted these two books on the receipt, we should keep the receipt (the thermo paper one) and let our kids to collect after 1/9.

我買左ｄ磨砂包書膠，但係重重地，包包下唔對路，因個仔細細粒，我個ｆｒｉｅｎｄ話有ｄ超輕包書膠，好薄的，所以都唔知包定唔包好呀！

I wrapped only the book 1A for each subject because I found each text book have sticker activities. That means if kids use the sticker and stick on the book and that cannot left for others. I will assess if my girl write too much or make it mess. Its difficult to erase my girls writing from the book. May be the publisher don't want you to reuse them by picking some sort of paper material that cannot clean thoroughly or make more sticker activities for kids to fill up the new books....

I found that the zip plastic bag's price is similar between few stationary shops or book shops in A4 size, I found that Japan City is $10/1, the Popular $15/1 and buy 3 get 1 free, others $10.5-13.5. Do you have any other suggestion?
