Hi TSL's parents,

Can I know how many native teachers are there in TSL? I know that most of them are Chinese but are they local or ABC/ BBC. Do the teacher speak local English? How about the children there? DO the children there speak English in school with their friends? Becos I found that it's quite difficult in HK. During the interview, I noticed that those guides speak fluent English (just like those foreigners).

Thanks!

Most teachers are local Chinese, only few of them are foreigners.  But I don't know how many of them are ABC/BBC.........

I think most of the local students talk to each others with Chinese when playing (like recess), but definately will speak English when talking to non-Chinese students.

As far as I know, all subjects are teaching in English (except Chinese) while little bit of Chinese will also be used for the ease of explanation and understanding.

The English standard of TSL should be on the higher side than normal schools, except international schools, I think.

Good on ya and fairdinkum, I really don't mind what accent she is going to pick up (not to offense anyone, so long as it is not Singaporean or Malaysian accent), kids pick up accent very fast wherever they live.

Hi daddycool,

I'm Singaporean & I have Singaporean accent. Sorry to say that I think Singapore one is better than HK one.

Hi Sim,

As I mentioned before,  I really not meaning to offence anyone, just the fact that a lot of them have the accent of "la" at the end of each sentence.  And yes, HKG accent isn't good at all and also, the English standard of Singaporean is much higher than people in HKG, in general.

Hi DaddyCool,

O! it's ok. No offence. We like to use lah! when writing to friends but no often when speaking. However, we like to do this when speaking Mandarin.

Since you are from Singapore and you are now living in HKG, would you suggest a good place for Laksa and Prawn Noodle for me, I am a super fans of these noodles. FYI, I like Prawn Noodle Shop in Wan Chai, but really want to find a good one in Kowloon. Many thanks in advance.

Hi daddycool,

O! Is there good place for Laksa & Prawn noodle? I'm not sure as I'm not not good in finding eating place. If you asked my where to find it in Singapore, I can tell you. In fact, I like dry fish ball noodles the best.
