My daughter is lucky enough to get the P. 1 offer for 2010. Could any parents kindly share the workload of Sacred Heart? How many exams in each school term? Normally, how many hours do students need to spend daily in their homework / revisions? Are there any compulsory extra-curricular activities? Also, is there any school bus to West Kowloon (Olympian City)? Sorry for so many questions.

Daily homework reasonable. But lots of tests, both for counting in their reports and kind of mock done during classes. Kids are faced with marks and marks and marks. Seems the kids 上學(not 求學) = 求分數

Hello, kidsmother,
Thanks for sharing. So apart from the 2 exams in each academic year, there would be ongoing tests for every subjects with marks that would be counted for the assessment. Would there be ranking for students? Any warning letters to those who are less than satisfactory?
And apart from checking the homework of the kids, parents need to do revisions with kids daily and could not leave till weekends. Is this the case in order to survive? Very eager to know as I'm a working mom.

Yes, there are frequent assessments and reports as mentioned in the 小學概覽。It is not an easy task for working moms either, but U sow as U harvest, why not check the result of the latest P6 graduates before U make the final decision.

Thank you for your information. Absolutely agree with you that no pain and no gain. The results of the P6 students are very encouraging. I just read from another thread in BK that most girls are happy with the school. It seems really worth trying despite we are not living very close to the school.
Btw, do you have any idea if the school bus would cover West Kowloon (Olympian City)?

Thank you for your information. Do you have thomas wong's contact nos? I still had not sorted out the transport arrangement for my daughter as one of the transport provider that I've contacted only covers students of the afternoon classes and the other does not have routes to my district.

小女讀緊小一. 我覺功課都不是太多. 1個鐘內一定可完成. 默書只是一個月一次. 沒有test, 但有評估及2次exams. 評估佔總分40%, 2 exams 佔 60%. 評估每科只是2-3頁紙,好簡單, 而且若小朋友上堂專心, 都不是太大問題.
上學期評估/默書時間表 (一早給家長作好準備):
中文-語文運用: 21/10/09; 15/12/09
中默 : 16/9/09; 5/10/09; 9/11/09; 25/11/09
英文-語文運用: 16/10/09; 20/11/09; 5/1/10
英默 : 29/9/09; 4/11/09; 8/12/09
數學 : 7/10/09; 11/11/09
常識 : 28/10/09; 18/12/09
exam 只考2天 : 8/1/10 (中文-語文運用 + 數學); 11/1/10 (英文-語文運用+常識).
下學期評估/默書時間表 (一早給家長作好準備):
中文-語文運用: 17/3/10; 19/5/10
中默 : 1/2/10; 1/3/10; 14/4/10; 3/5/10
英文-語文運用: 10/3/10; 28/4/10; 3/6/10
英默 : 24/2/10; 29/3/10; 14/5/10

Thank you for advising. We will wait till registration to get more information. In fact, we are relieved that our district is also covered by the private nanny buses. Yet, with the travelling time involved, we are now figuring out if it's worth moving near to the school.
Btw, the workload of the first term in P.1 including the exams and assessments seems fairly reasonable. Is your daughter having a happy school life?
