I will wait until the end of month to see whether any other DSS school would accept my son. If not, I will register.

We will visit the school this weekend on 19th Sept as it is their open day to last check if it is suitable for our son.

So probably yes!

Hi all,

I also received acceptance letter. It is bit early to the parents I think. Most of other DSS schools have just at the begining of interview procedure. It is hard to decided whether register at this stage and give up other opportunity.

Anyone felt the same?

I totally understand how you feel. But for me, I will only apply those DSS that I like. So if any one of them accept my son, I will accept the offer.

It's not bad to know the results earlier. At least I don't have to worry about the P1 admission for so long.

And the result tells me that I don't have to waste any more $$ to buy those "false hopes", because I don't think my son will be accepted by Ying Wah and 陳守仁.

we visited the school last Saturday on their Open Day. I found that the English standard is not low at all. We read the compos posted on the walls of the classrooms, they are of high standard.

I told my husband, if my son can't write the compos like that, I think I will be very happy already.

I went to an admission talk at the other school. They said that secondary allocation for new DSS school under 5 years would be 1/3 to band 1, 1/3 to band 2 and 1/3 to band 3. I am a bit of worrying.

我囡囡今年讀此校小一, 因此校沒有中學聯繫, 又是新校, 升中比率是無舊數據參考的, 我唔明既然第一年小六升中都未試過, 點解人哋會知, 除非這數據是教署對新校的規定吧 (但教署會咁做嗎 ?), 我都好想知資料來源呢 !

不過以我來講, 如果一心只是以升Band 1 的比率來選校, 那只需集中投考那些名校或升Band 1比率高的學校就可以了, 但不要忘記此類學校要求高壓力大, 自己小朋友或家長是否可以適應就自己衝量 , 對我來說, 引起小朋友讀書興趣和喜歡返學較重要, 喜歡學習和強迫學習, 那樣會令小朋友學到嘢, 我相信是前者, 雖然小囡只開學了二個星期, 但見佢每日返學得好開心, 好喜歡老師和同學, 無抗拒學習己好足夠 ! 我估大家都做個學生, 應知道怎樣的校園生活對小朋友有利呢 !

The information is given by a primary principle and they said this secondary allocation system would adminster to new DSS school by EDB. If the allocation is 1/3 to band 1, don't you think that the percentage is pity low?

如果這是教署對新校的guideline, 我又不是太擔心, 因為我囡囡是第四年, 只要初頭兩年學生成績好, Band 1比率會上升的, 況且間間新校都要經這階段, 若它現在己有保證高的升Band 1比率, 我估現在大把人爭崩頭入啦 ! 環顧現在升Band 1 比率高(80%以上)的學校, 都是傳統功課多壓力大的學校, 這些學校不是我杯茶 ! 自己囡囡性格亦不適合讀這些學校 !

還有慢長6年時間, 現在最重要是對學習有信心有興趣, 學校資源又唔錯 (兩個Native 英語和兩個國語老師), 校長老師又有教學熱誠, 學費又相對便宜, 對外參賽機會又多些, 我其實好有信心6年校囡囡會入到 Band 1學校, 反知表姊雖然讀咗一間80%入Band 1的學校, 但是呢4年見佢讀書溫習佔了她大倍份人生, 但成績都是中等個種, 我唔想囡囡是咁囉 !

其實要選此校, 家長與學校理念要一致 !

有冇人已收到學校面試結果信，有不被取錄/waiting嗎?
因為我見學校收生只50人，但經過幾輪面試後，仍然有位再收生，我想知道學校收生要求高獲取錄生還很少，或是有許多人未去/冇去註冊呢?
另外如不被取錄是註明"不被取錄"/"waiting"?

剛收到信件,嶺小收了我兒讀2010年小一,但要在10月16日前註冊,坦白講, 我沒有想到會那麼快就有結果的, 其實自行已報了協上,因為我們是住在長沙灣的,我想在此問清楚一點, 是否註冊了要放棄自行派位的?如果是的話, 可否同學校說拖到11月自行有結果才註冊(當然我明白可能到時嶺小沒有學位),但我不知如何做是好, 請指點

我亦收到信要在10月初註冊. 註冊就一定要放棄自行派位, 有封信要你簽返俾學校, 即係同意放棄自行派位. 學校亦會呈報教署話收咗你的小朋友, 咁就自動取消你的資格啦. 我最終都放棄了註冊.
