Hi,
My son is accepted to Wah Yan for 2009 school year (stream A). May I ask the existing parents is the workload for P1 studuents reasonable? Also are the teachers there good?

no, aided school does not have interview, this is referring the Discretion stage (Stage 1), counting by points, you are referring the Stage 2 Central Allocation.

Then we might have a high chance our sons study in the same class, hehe.

On the orientation day in July, school will distribute different kinds of info about the school bus, mini van with different vendor for your choice. Also the school uniform plus any other info for your reference.

No worry as school admin is helpful to take care of your request.

My son got 20 marks.

Area of residence is not a concern in the first stage of placement. My son will still get 20 marks even if we live in Wan Chai area.

My son has 20 marks, not Wan chai district. (but not a concern at 1st stage) and luckily got in pm class.

I have not heard of any 15 points can get in for 09-10

After the introduction of "small class", the number of students in class has reduced to 30 per class.

Whereas old boy, siblings and the religion (both Pun U group or Catholic) will consume most of the places in class, so 20 marks will just be the minimum points to compete.

15 points will then leave to the 2nd stage of Central allocation where the place of residence will be crucial.

Congratulations to you all ! Did your sons get admitted in the 1st round with 20 marks? You were really lucky as I was told that many old boys' children could not get in.

Wah Yan has always been my 1st choice (in mind). But I dare not choose it as my son's 1st choice (next year), as there are only 28 places in the 2nd round. It seems the chance of getting in is just like winning Mark Six.

Have you got any private schools as backup? Can you share what was your 2nd and 3rd choice?

Last night, I asked my son whether he remember which class he will study. But he only remember where is the classroom. Daddy had told him that he needs to quene at the column which labelled 1A2 but he totally forgot (as he just needed to remember the classroom in kinder.)

I think I will let my son to carry the school bag. I wonder they will have some notices to be distributed on that day and it can hold the water bottle as well.

I bought the plastic book cover sheets together with the books on the registration day. It's really convenient for use and I don't think the books will be heavier as the plastic sheet is quite thin.

the school bus' representative has called us a few days ago and told us the arrangement already. you may call the school for the school bus co. telephone and check with them.

btw, they should have given you the school bus no. for you to sew on the uniforms. it shows the no. ga wow.

I don't know wow~ They gave us the cloth marked with "number" and asked us to sew just right above the school logo on the shirts on the registration day.
