聖公會德田李兆強小學(20分),但聽聞這小學功課比其他小學多,其實羅富國我都like,但問過有否校車到油塘,學校回答是沒有的(學校新),而我覺得羅會跟陳守仁那個理念去做,聽講他的副校長是從陳守仁過去的,係呢你小朋友叫咩名(嘉倩),

There have a school bus route found in the LHT website. and have a one of station of 西貢市中心 (麥當奴門口)* hope can make u more convenience.

It is a good idea. Actually, the kinder of my son has distributed some story books to the kids for reading (normally 2 books per 2 weeks in English or Chinese) but I feel that it's not enough. It is necessary for me to borrow more books from library frequently
I would like to know you are "story-telling" with your son or read the words or sentances one by one?

I try to read through every words, both Chinese and English Book, and ask him to recognize all words as many as possible. Besides, we try to discuss with him on the ending and implication of the story. All what we do is to help him to develop reading habit so he will not afraid of reading more in future.

The interviewer usually asks about the living habit of your kids, the reasons that you choose LHT, the merits or demerits of LHT that you think, any expectation to LHT and so on....
Don't worry. I feel the teachers of LHT are nice and hope you are successful....

我信相係現今教育制度, 一般小學都會吹谷, 如果不是, 普遍
家長未必認同和接受 . 但本人相信 LHT 比起區外一些有名氣的小學甚至 TKO 的 播X已不算課程太深.
所以, 不用太擔心, 見步行步吧 !

我相信妳可能誤會了. 課程深的應該是播x, 而不是真x !
播x~雖是新校, 但由小一起, 中文全面用普通話授課, 而數學就用英文授課. 而因此, 學生很多時都難解題以致學習數學更加吃力
相反, 真x~是以活動教學, 沒有默書及exam, 只用評估形式.

Yes, I also did not receive the notice letter from school until now and I just found out in LHT's official website only. Maybe we can receive the letter in this week.....

The school fee in 08/09 is $1100 per month. Regarding other charges, I am also not quite sure now....

你錯喇...LHT先係中文用普通話教學,播X係用母語,但各位家長唔使驚又唔使報定普通話班,因學校有佢地方式令小朋友學到普通話,完全唔係問題。英文,音樂,SCI就用英文教學....勁正!!!

今日屋企人話收到一個公文袋, 入面有d有關14/6/08的通告同表格, 我比較關心的小一適應班就響21/07/08-25/07/08舉行, 但阿仔間幼稚園要返埋25號先至行畢業禮, 之前仲要綵排畢業禮表演, 咁咪即係冇得參加個適應班? 點解要咁早搞呢?

At my side, the schedule is OK since my son will start the summer holidays at the mid of July.

Yesterday, the kindergarten and LHT organised a 45-minute bridging English lesson for my children, frankly speaking, all K2 students couldn't understand what the teachers said, but it was a good road show for all the attended parents. LHT really setup an English lesson with 2 teachers and attracted me so much.
Lastly, the principal met with parents couple minutes, he said pupil:teacher ratio will change and combine 2 classes(30 pupils per class) to form 3 groups(20 pupils per group), the interval per session will change to 60 minutes. Longer than my secondary school life
BTW, I read the newspaper and find that 09/10 there will has a further small class (about 25 pupils per class), most likely, LHT pupils:teachers ratio may change again.

Yes, Principal explained right now 2 groups have interference between the pupils, and couldn't archieve the expectation of double teachers. But I'm not sure how can they re-organise the classroom to put all 60 students together.
LHT organised Miss Ho and Miss Chan(?) as English teachers yesterday. Their accent are quite good and personally I accept, they are young enough to pick up the new idea of teaching in Hong Kong, sure NATs (外籍老師) are preferrable. Principle also point out Phonics, shared reading story books are the way of teaching English and finally let the children to write.
Or you can attend introduction meeting on July.

Regarding the uniform, I feel 金綸 should be good because they have the long history. My kinder and primary school uniform were also provided by this company.
But I have bought one set per each from Victory on last Saturday. The quality is OK la... I think I will go to 金綸 to buy one more set if necessary.

when compared 豐昌順 with 維多利, i think 豐昌順 is better in terms of quality, especially for sport polo shirt and boy shirt. But will also go to 金綸 for further investigation. BTW many thanks for your kind advice.

I heard in school year 08/09, there will be 30 pupils per class, and combine 2 classes to form 3 groups. It may be reduce to 25 pupils in year 09/10, if it is true, I guess LHT will increase school fee in year 09/10. I will know the ratio of teacher:pupil by next Wednesday cos kindergarten arrange a LHT visit next week.

The school has increased the school fee in this year (last term is $980/month?)......

Yes, I knew. I just guess there will be a larger part of increment in year 09/10 due to further small class.

2 questions can answer you now, and I will confirm all by next week. Here is the Principle answered from bridging course of English last week.
(1) 每班人數
In 08/09, 30 pupils per class and combine 2 classes to form 3 groups.
(2) 返學/放學時間 (因為放4:45pm, 會唔會安排學生響學校做功課)
(3) 每一堂係幾多分鐘
Six lessons daily and each lesson has 60 minutes. I raised up a question that day and asked Principle "Will both teachers and students have enough patient for 60-minute long?" He answered politely "Teacher will organise teaching material, as shorter teaching time can't teach thoroughly." Personally I accept cos LHT is a full day school, less lessons mean lighter school bag, and more concentrated on each subject. I am so afraid when they back to home, nothing know on day learning cos the short and rush studying hour.
(4) 每年係咪2 次測驗 + 4次考試 (小學概覽的資料）
(5) 課外活動有沒有校車安排
By the way, I know PLK WWS (保良局黃永樹小學) has provided community service which can help you (for both question 2 and 5).
If my kids fail on LHT, I will choose WWS, but some parents told me don't expect too much on 課餘功課輔導班 in WWS
Can any working parents share how do the children stay after school? Sometimes I find the parents from PLK are silence and passive. Sigh!!!

Something I want to share which is very interesting. I heard at least 3 kids of parents that Chinese is very difficult in P1 (two in 馮晴 and one in LHT), but no one said on English. Does anyone know why?
2 Principles from WWS and LHT also mention large amount of Shared Reading is the key way to learn language. Lastly, if you can, I would like to advice borrow P1 test or exam papers for ya kid as soon as possible from any PLK primary school.

LHT今年上堂時間改為1hr/堂, 試問一個6歲小朋友的專註力點可以咁長? 成個上堂時間似打仗. 以我所知, 根本大多數家長意見係同意最後一堂改為自修堂, 根本不同意上堂時間改到咁長, 但學校並没有接受大多數家長的意見.
我已經叩咗其他學校, 有1間收咗, 但又不係最心水, 心大心細不知點好? 真係好煩.

我反而擔心返學時間長, 未計一生一體藝活動, 正正常常返到屋企都已經4點零5點, 再做埋功課(大約2個鐘, 因為佢寫字慢), 之後仲有沖涼+食飯+練習學器(現在1種, 第時可能係2種), 咁再可以睇書的時間真係冇乜啦....所以我先至concern會唔會響學校做埋功課, 返到屋企的時間會好用得多.

我覺得1 hr 真係有ｄ長, but 我估應該唔會成個鐘淨教書掛! 好似係阿仔依家上緊phonic / oral 班都係over 1hr 以上, so far 都唔覺得佢話辛苦...
