區內小學, 學校同乙部填表都極之保守.
我就係咁被彈返份表兩次, 亦講明唔再修改.  朋友囝ST JAMES 全級頭幾名, 乙一學校都要求選華仁, 已經可想而知....

For ST JAMES , You meant this year?  OMG!   


If my son is within first 5 in the whole grade 6, I would certainly ignore the teacher.


My daughter's classmates who switched from st. James 2 years ago and ranked the first in St. James (she claimed), achieved very good results in her school (one of the 直屬 girls in wanchai district).  At least first 3 in her class.

Thanks for giving such effort.

I think for 直屬小學, may assume all band 1 go to their 直屬 secondary places, hence may deduct such places from the pool. For spss, even Band 2 will go for certain.

It's not uncommon to hear similar comments about the wanchai district.  One girl switched to my daughter's , dont remember at which grade, she was from a school in Yaumatei (we believed it to be Yaumatei Catholic).  Her performance in these years isn't as brilliant (not outstanding at all) as the girl who switched from St. James.
But you know, this is not scientific proof.

Yeah, that's probably a rational hypothesis .  However achieving first rank in P3 is not promising enough to ensure same ranking is likely to be achieved in P5/6, you know academic wise P5/6 is very different from lower primary.  More, in a 直屬 primary, students and their parents face much less pressure, which may be good for students to grow as a whole person, without being overly pushed.

On the other hand, switching to a Primary School with 直屬 secondary will surely guarantee her a place in a band 1 secondary school.  進可攻, 退可守.  Not every family is in preference of DSS 神校.  That brilliant girl only applies for another gov't girls' school, as far as I know.

Unlikely SJPS cannot make use of the total no. of SJC 直屬位.
