我都相信點都會收番少少天主教徒, 不過以我大女當年, 同今年細女比, 真係都差幾遠下
大女嗰年收嗰d, 大部份係天主教徒, 因為我地唔係, 大女就waiting, 到細女今年就唔係教徒都收咗, 我都有少少surprise, 而細仔d 女同學就好多唔係教徒都入到, 所以我估比例上, 因為係天主教而入的比我大女嗰年係少好多
如果我細女可以同家姐一齊讀, 我都會放番個位出嚟

我係九龍東住,6:41 am校車,我當初如大家咁諗,要唔要咁早呀,不過我試過7:00 am送囡囡返學,要等lift及街上多左車及人,我覺得早d起,小朋友早d瞓,佢地好易習慣.

雜費,簿費: 8月1日交過HKD 880,是上學期的,下學期,可能要交幾百元.
訂補充作業: HKD 57.00
故事書: HKD 204.00 (3本中文,3本英文)
今個月有一次outing: HKD 45.00
車費及午飯費用等等

獎卷我買左2張,HKD 20.00.
學校下個月有晚會,門卷由幾百至一千元不等,我無參加,捐左一百元.囡囡亦無hard feeling.

P1無課外活動,P2開始,小朋友可以參加校隊,如游泳,田徑,choir,跳舞.否則都要選一個課外活動,係activity時候參加,一星期一次.

校長唔鼓勵比小朋友參加太多課外活動.so far小朋友亦唔需要補習.

我未入GH之前,聽到話壓力好大,小朋友讀到short左,好多同性戀,功課多到做到12點.....
postive只有: 英文好,新校舍.
不過,我都選左GH比較我其他的私校offer.
GH中學以我所知係band 1.

我自己知多左,事實又唔係咁,小朋友仲可以放左學去游水,練彈琴,睇你自己點分配時間.
好似我囡囡,今日功課6樣,其中3樣係改正,唔錯唔使改.係activity時間做晒功課番黎,我放工番到去,同佢串字,寫中文,溫定下星期中英默書,仲有時間諗朗誦,彈琴,講古仔,9:30 pm瞓.

Thanks fyeung, that's very useful for me, cause up to now GHS is still the best offer I've got. (compare to other schools which also accepted) But I was quite nervous about some parents saying that the secondary section is not good enough.

By the way, if comparing DGS, GHS & Maryknoll, which one will U choose??

One more addition information I would like to know :
Do all primary students can automatically enter secondary school  and no need to select by acedemic result ?
Also, how much for the school fee in secondary school ?

My daughter is studying in GH.   Let me share my real experience:

Homework: normally 7-8 homework per day -most of them are worksheets only which can be finished in 1 to 1.5 hrs.

School bus: 6:55am in my case.  At first I also questioned why it's so early, but now it seems all girls can adapt quite well, though my ideal time is 30 mins later.

Standard: Very high standard in Eng and Maths.  P1-6 is important for language development, so I like this.

Teachers: Though the school emphasis a lot on discipline, surprisingly the girls don't feel the  pressure and they like the teachers.  My girl tells me the teachers likes to make jokes so it's less boring.  What impressed me most is she tells me she feels happy "everyday" at school.  For me, whether she enjoy the school life is my 1st priority, whether the school is famous or not are not my concern.  

Principal: Personally I like Sister Leung a lot. At every year's parent mtg, she keeps on reminding parents not to "push" the girls too much, and let them have more leisure time for reading and relax.  She assured parents that the school work is already very adequate for kids, and reminded us there is really no need to buy supplementary worksheets or sent them to tutorial classes.

As my knowledge, GH is a private primary.  Your daughter still have a chance for "lucky draw".

There is no indication in the offerring letter to request us to withdraw the lucky draw.
Hopefully, we are no need to sign any document to withdraw the lucky draw during the registration.
For logic thinking, if GH request us to withdraw lucky draw, she should mention in the letter and let us to make decision before go to school and make the decision at that moment.
May I know the practice of last year ?
I heard from other GH' parents said that they are no need to withdraw the lucky draw last year.

Good for U to leave the chances to other kids (schools that you won't join afterall).
Hope all the parents do the same thing, there're lots of bright but un-lucky kids waiting to be settle.

fyeung and us are very good "web friends" and our daughters are studying in P.1 of GH but different class.

Fyeung already answered most of the questions regarding the school and very details.  If you ask any parents in P.1 of Good Hope, I guess it's same comment.

For myself, my eldest daughter got the seat in GH was not easy and we were suffering for whole month waiting the reply in August, 2009.  Actually, she got the "Knock Door" seat after the examination at the 2nd famous aided girl school in Kowloon Tong and no need to pay school fee.  But, we still waiting for Good Hope's reply as we didn't take apply for the interview at the beginning.

Once you got the seats in GH, please keep it like a treasure.

And very lucky, my youngest daughter got the acceptance letter  for 2010/11 few days ago.

Every year, all private schools have to send the name of the sucessful candiate with finishing registration to the government.  Then, the Education Department will sent you a letter to confirm if anybody would like to drop the Central Allocation.  You NO NEED TO WORRY about it, you still have a chance to do the "Lucky Draw" in Jan.

Thanks, some of my gal's classmate already confirmed they'll join GH.
Others said that they're worry about the secondary section of GH is not good enough.

Dear beautiful_mama,

I mentioned on some forums for this, it's the matter after six years later primary education in GH.  As far as I know, GH provided a lot of good elements for our daughter's foundation.  Of course, she has a protection net (Secondary Section).  But, so many choices if our daughters got the high rank in GH.

For Secondary Section nowaday, it's better let all those Secondary's parents answer.
