Hi my girl accepted into both KV and St. Clare's AM K1 class. We like one-dragon St. Clare's but als ...
I was from St. Clare's primary school and I'm proud to be one of their students.
Yes, I used to have 2 form tests and 1 exam per semester.
The English teaching in St Clare is really good, the syllabus is a bit harder than other schools, eg: normal schools teach past tense in P.3 and we learned it in P.2, plus present perfect tense.
We learned Cursive in P.3 and starting to use Cursive to do hw, dictation in P.4.
Apart from English textbook, we have another 'Reader', there were several stories in it and the level of difficulty is high, after reading it we have to finish a worksheet with some questions about the story and memorize it for exams.
I would say St. Clare's is a school that focus on academic, as well as other aspects especially on Moral education.
I have had a good time in St. Clare's and I missed it so much when I left the school, though we often have quizzes/test/exam, I was very happy studying in it, teachers and the pricipal are nice and patient. My classmates are well-behaved too.
I was from an ordinary kindergarten, but I didn't found that much pressure, in fact, I have only spent maximum 1.5 hours for doing homework and 1 hour for revision every day, I think it's acceptable.
If your child concentrate in class, she can probably complete her homework within 1.5 hour.
St. Clare's is in fact a very good school, they are very strict in discipline, students are well behaved, this is what I have observed in the past years. |
