1) Japanese International School

Renaissance has an information session on Nov 26, details to be available.  You can call them to reserve a seat first.

As for Japanese International School, they just finished the Open Lesson Day about 3 weeks ago. The next one may be held sometime around April if they follow the calendar for the event just like last school year. But, of course, you can give them a call anytime and tell them you want to make a visit. They surely do welcome you and the principal will show you around the school.

WYmom,

I called Renaissance regarding the open day on Nov 26.   They said I will be contacted with details again.   Few days later, they returned call saying that open day will be postponed to Jan 06.    May I know from what channel you heard about the open day?   If they did announce the date to public formally and, end up, they fails to make it, it really gives me a bad "first impression" !

No, there was no public announcement.  I asked them by phone and they told me the date.  I did not receive any return call re postponing the date.

I see, thanks.   Last week, I talked to a friend who kids are studying in ICS.   He strongly advise me to think deeply which curriculum (UK or US) I prefer before I target any int'l school.   I remember one BK mum mentioned same thing before.   It seems that there are more choices for the UK curriculum in Hongkong (ESF schools are the majority !!)  Sometimes, I do ask myself: should I just "see one step, proceed one step"  :cry:

I agree with you. In fact, now ESF is also starting to use IB program gradually, Shatin Junior has already use PYP, and other ESF schools will gradually adopt IB diploma.  So I am not too worry about using UK curriculum, which has been used for so many years and the graduates from those UK IS also entered top universities in US or Canada.  It is more important for me to choose a high quality school.  Good schools with US system are very limited here and the locations are too far away to me.(e.g.HKIS).
