Art Haven 藝窩

My son has just started learning drawing in Art Haven (3 lessons so far) and he really enjoys it. I put him there as Art Haven was recommended by quite a lot of mummies here in BK. Last nite when I asked him if the picture is drawn by him or the teacher, he answered very certainly that it's not the teacher, it's him. But when I asked whether he drew the picture by copying another picture, he said yes, though not very firm. I'm a bit worry if this is really the case. Can any mummies let me know more about the real situation ?
I want to call Art Haven directly to check but I'm not very sure that they will tell the truth.

我首先申報利益，聲明我並非Art Haven 藝窩的學生家長，亦非教職員。無任何關係。

有不同的方法可以測試一下(當然不一定絕對準確)：

1.和小朋友討論他為何這樣畫。

2.代表甚麼意思。

3.他是如何構思這幅圖畫。（抄畫是講不出以上的意思）

4.找機會看看其他同學作品是否非常相似，例如貼在畫室內的貼堂作品。

5.了解一下導師背境，看看有否足夠能力引導小朋友(因為即使有藝術背境亦不等於懂得去教)

6.看看一些有關兒童美術文章，介紹有關與你小朋友同齡的作品大至如何。是否畫得太好(可能他是天才)

7.不要在導師面前問小朋友「幅畫係唔係你畫

I think that you can discuss with the teacher to know the actual situations. I think that they will tell you the truth. Or may be you can discuss with the parents of the class after school or before school.

我同意你問下老師有關你個仔o既情況，我覺得你比得佢係果度學，就要信任個老師，如果有問題就要問清楚，有懷疑就不如轉校喇！？

Thank you very much for your help. I agree that I should trust the teacher and I would also try ask and discuss with the teacher about my son's situation. The problem is I have to work and rarely can I go there with my son. I think it's better to have a face-to-face discussion with the teacher. I'll do it during the Easter holidays as anyway I'd paid until end March.

If any mummies have kids studying in Art Haven and know about the real situation, please also reply.

I also encourage you to discuss with the teacher directly. I think if the teacher is good, he/she should be open in discussing with you. Every teaching method has its pros and cons . I think a good teacher can tell you why he/she uses such teaching method.

簡單來說你應該問導師，因為最直接。另一方面，你要清楚作品欣賞對繪畫是有好處，作品欣賞不等於沒有創意，反而啟發創意！
