"現在的學校不提供(重讀)此安排。" You're talking about your child's current LS, right? For our boy's IS it is possible. Heard from upper management that 3 kids from the same teacher, all dec born, opted for repeating Reception (k2) this year. It really depends on the child, the family, and the teacher's recommendation.
However, for application purposes you must apply according to the year of birth (or whichever age bracket the child falls under for that particular school), even if the child is born Dec 31 (or August 31). Someone's gotta be the youngest, right? Once the child is in their system, then you can work with the teachers around it.
So no, you can't do k3 then Year 1, because the school would not accept the child. She'd be too old to apply for y1 by then.
