Don't talk about long away story. My friend got offer  this year. Victoria asked the to give $9000 deposit and will return it back when they finish  K3. Haha...At least no school does it at this moment.

I am also in a dilemma between an am offer from True Light and a pm offer from Victoria Belcher's campus (I opted for trilingual that's why it's pm).  Friends with kids currently studying there hold varying opinions in respect of Victoria's curriculum, students' discipline and the track record re the primary schools that the student went to.  One of my friends shares a feeling with a parent here that the V is too commercial, like a company serving its customers, that it tends to overrate students so as to please their parents.  The problem might be one cannot take a timely action to correct her child until the child goes to primary school and finds it hard to adjust to and meet the "traditional" requirements.

Despite that opinion which i believe it's true, I am a bit inclined to Victoria coz:
1)The primary schools V's students went to are the ones I desire, like Kau Yan, SH, HKUSA and Raimondi.  The one with the 'commercial' opinion has her daughter go to SH.
2) My daughter attended V's playgroup and enjoyed it so much.  She is just the one for V.  she's active, confident, curious and cannot sit still.
3) I regard language competency very important in one's education and even one's whole life.  It's so much about one's presentation ability and confidence.   It's true that their students speak fluent English even their families have Cantonese as primary language.
4) I am a full-time mom so that I have a bit more time to take care of her discipline and supplementary classes when needed.

But still I hope someone can share with me some more thoughts and point me a direction, hopefully before I pay the $9000 deposit next Monday.  Thanks!

My boy currently studying in Victoria (Harbour heights campus), personally I don't think it's "too" commercial, with this school fees, basically u don't have too pay for any other misc fee or tea cost, all inclusive. Teachers are good and patient. And I agreed that kids are in general quite confident in speaking up in Chinese and English (we speak Cantonese at home, but he had no problem to speak in English as well). I appreciate the chance that they can speak multiple languages with the dual mistresses system.  I think they are also adjusting the syllabus as well to make it more comparable with other kinder (but of course not too many homework if u compare with st cat or kentville). Anyway, my boy is happy studying there and I don't need to look for supplementary class on English to him. Hope it helps.

My vote goes to Victoria. I don't find the school too commercial. As for RHS, their application day gave me a bad impression. I was there for PN application. However, I don't see any advantage for them to accept PN, K1 and P1 applications on the same day and caused such congestions. Taking a couple of pictures of the applicants are fine but I don't think there was a need to take so many shots from all angles on ground floor and down from upper floors. After I was seated and waiting for my turn to submit the application, the staff kept telling us the first who lined up was there since midnight.  The application numbers were up to 3000 but they didn't start the serial from 1. 這樣的安排也許值得我去考慮冠以commercial之名。

Yes $9000 deposit is a bit strange.  But Aii, low application fee and reservation fee does not seem to be good as well.  There are so many parents holding the seat until the very last moment.  Not so fair to those with no offers.  In my my mind, all schools are commercial when doing interview. They earn so much (ie application fee and stamps).  But schools should do something to stop ppl from holding unwanted seats.

Have already found the primary schools which their graduates went to in the last two years.  Very impressive!
