如題，ESF 幼稚園學生升返上ESF系小學機會大嗎？我見有舊post話，cat 2 無小學offer，連interview都無。如果升唔到要再搵幼稚園讀K3咪好頭痕？風險好似好大！

已經冇左cat1cat2, 而家是大家一起interview收生，so far收番都超過九成

現在冇分category, 外國passport 也冇advantage . 下年開始，每人只可以報一間 Esf primary school ( including RC) , 所以生態會大變，相信此變動，有助所以Esf kinder 學生可於first round 得到學位。但其實detail 尚未公佈。你也可直接打Esf admission hotline 問清楚。最少他們會confirm 你所有跟網上公佈的priority , 冇cat 之分，foreign passport 冇adv

I'm not so sure about this one. The application form does ask for passport information, and there are government guidelines to follow regarding local to foreign student ratio.
I guess a child who has both HKID and foreign passport may have a slight advantage over another who only has HKID, reason being the first child can be classified as either local or foreign, so the school can juggle their figures if necessary, whereas the second child can only be classified as local and the school will have less flexibility.

Bottomline is, if the child has foreign passport, one should always include that information in the application form. Even if it brings no advantage it certainly won't do any harm.

For CDNIS upper school section, it said passport holder does have advantage in certain stage (after assessment tests). And one have to put down the passport information and submit copy when apply.

CDNIS : some priority for Canadian passports, but still many cannot get in because too many in HK
Australian IS: priority for aus passports but long waiting time too, need submit early
sing IS: almost guarantee admission for Singaporean
Kellet : probably priority for British passport (not BNO)
GSIS: priority for German and Swiss but if not meeting assessment standard, still won't admit. Can go to German stream though.
JIS : for Japanese

Nevertheless, interview performance is most important, we didn't hold foreign passport but we still got quite a number of offers including some competitive ones.

咁多新IS, 找一兩間backup , 不至於要去番local stream 啩。不過要預錢for 報名費留位費

Agree, 風險其實不大，除非你非ESF primary不入，或者完全吾識英文，否則實有得讀，總之入左ESF kinder先啦

多謝各位回覆，因為網上太多舊PO，加上呢一兩年國際學校生態都大變，好擔心自己做錯決定！
ESF因為有屋企人係old girl，所以想入返，我地預算小學畢業前會送小朋友返去外國，所以想一條龍唔想煩。又，太多新IS，好多都好似$掛帥，老牌既唔係天價又中間啲既選擇又唔算多。

There is no need for too much guessing or worrying.

If the child has foreign passport, always state it. If not, just go ahead and try anyway, you may be pleasantly surprised. A foreign passport is not something that can be acquired easily or swiftly, so you might as well set it aside because there isn't much you could do about it.

Just to share my case. I was borned in Macau and grown up in HK, I have a Portugese passport and so my kids are eligible to have a Portguese passport too. But I felt embarrassing to select " Portugese" under the drop down field of "Nationality" when applying ESF kinder and primary, cause we obviously have no parentage of Portugese, I had simply selected Chinese (Hong Kong). I knew I was silly to do so, but I scare I would be questioned regarding this during parents' interview

There are a lot of people with different nationality. Nationality is different from ethnicity. I do not see anything wrong with not claiming to be a Chinese national, if you genuinely own a second passport.

Does anyone know the chance of getting esf year 1 interview & seat if join esf kindergarten from k2?

The website says only students who have studied for 2 terms are guaranteed for an interview.
