Exactly, at the end, some schools you didn't apply if still have vacancy will even call back you, my friend applied kjs last year, at the end got CWB called her to give her a spot. The other applied SJS, got a call from BHS.

今年唔同，SJS因為WKS今年6班情況最好，好大機會所有ESF kinder pass 都入到。BHS同KJS嘅reserved list 大幅增加，有機會收唔哂，尤其KJS. 往年BHS 有位俾STS同KJS wait 唔到，甚至外人，今年難講

所以明年應該情況更嚴重，TC開了，WKS 8班

，真的建議明年考Y1要搵多幾間

其實真係要考慮向港島及clear water bay 發展，明年WKS 仲多了一班共50人。

Honestly I think relocating to TKO is an option...
There are a few IS in Sai Kung / TKO area, some were already run for a few years.
The property price is lower than in HK island (I guess)
NTW also got some IB schools / IS and competition should not be too keen.
NT East / Kowloon is probably the most competitive regions in HK for IS placement.

我識的都是in 完在waiting list 加本身是ESF kinder 或sibling priority(sibling 但in 得不好首輪冇位），之後分別收到其他學校call (頗遲的時間）。外校生收到這樣call的機會應該不大。（港島除外，因只有一間ESF kinder5間primary, 一定多外校生）

True, TKO got FIS, Nord anglia, Kellet, CWB etc think about it seriously, I know ESF CWB is not so oversubscribed as the other ones.

Totally agree! My son speaks fluent English and mainly English. I never received any advice from esf kindie he has problem in English nor communicating with others. But he got rejected by kjs. So I really wonder why?!?!? I also agree that esf kindie always claim they want children to "Play" in school more than learning, but at the end esf primary hold assessment for entry? And they so called not encourage parents to take your kids for tutoring. I was so naive that I just leave my son play after school...ended up with a rejected offer saying my son English skill is not strong enough!!!
Then this means esf kindie is not doing its job????

I think their assessment is very subjective, if the kid is not too outspoken and just talk little during the time, they will assume his English level to be not adequate. In the past they are not so harsh, but now since they have loads of people to choose from, they just put more students to waiting.
Even the ESF kinders become more picky now, 10 years back ESF kinder 報名已可以入，now even with more kinders opening, I heard them rejecting candidates.

2. 仲神怪嘅係： siblings 失敗率遠遠高于non-siblings!

因為唔止 English proficiency, 其實social skill 都睇，仲有唔好忘記仲有個parent interview

"Native speakers" means? Genuinely native? Or "trained native" from local families?
As far as I see, most genuinely native speakers have a very different cultural background. The kids are usually a lot more outgoing and talkative, thus under the "new admission procedure" should actually be in a better position.

"Siblings" issue is easy to analyse. Those families presumed their child would pass the interview. Thus they put less effort in training up their children. Non-siblings families know they are in a bad position. Thus put extra effort in training up their children. Make sense.

我諗我解釋到siblings失敗率高的原因，siblings制度方便家長照顧學生。但由於有太多家長濫用呢種priority，比細佬妹讀第二啲學校，就係為咗慳學費，以為實入到，乜都唔多做。其實佢地憑乜咁定？此外，外面幼稚園教出來的學生未必係Esf想要嘅，語言能力方面可能有未及Esf要求。

另外，因為佢哋有優先權，間接影響到其他更叻嘅同校幼稚園學生，或者外面學生嘅申請。如果真係有心讀嘅，相信學校理念，點解唔由幼稚園嗰度讀落去，siblings制度應該有criteria，令制度公平，例如必須為幼稚園學生才能行使siblings priority。
