thanks for your sharing...
and what i can understand is.... the 校網of our living district ( sometimes i think better than No.41 , at least more even n fairly qualified) is really good, seems no any bad school indeed, that's y for school allocation result is good, n lots in 直資 n finally Vic primary too...
anyway my family cannot support the huge money expenses, we prefer to save more money for her to have more interest classes and study aboard after F.3, so decied to give up ...
I think many mamas are feeling confused too
try to ask urself a question: which primarty school is your favorite one
second Q: what u expect your son/daughter will be

Be positive and reli love to read every parents' sharings here

my fd told me this year, only Vic primary admiited his son, interviewed almost 10 top schools, all failed.....

各有各喜好你喜歡便選這間但考慮過經濟條件和心儀的小學還是其他學校較適合我們我也聽說很多讀緊ge小朋友很喜歡上學都是好學校來的!!!

His son can choose gov aided school but he prefer private school instead. Those gov 'mark six' schools cost no money. It seems it's his wish to pay. I will look the other way round. He may still fail all the top schools if he is at the other kinder. But Victoria give him a private primary back-up.
Just discussion.

VSA Debenture 目前只有50個額，應該會供不應求，有debenture的話，入學會有優先，但都要考。如果考不進或決定不讀VSA的debenture holder,可賣出debenture

其實都好難完全明白。我都聽過好多朋友說她說過的。她選擇相信而我願意「冒險」。選擇自己舒服的學校都是可理解。但debenture 的理解不太正確。VSA只發五十張debenture。即沒debenture的仍有很大機會入到的。我去了info session 而不是只聽別人說。至於升小學適應方面，我們別天真只靠學校。本地P1跟任何一間K3都差很遠的。要進elite local school 的話就要下點功夫。一個小朋友的失敗代表全部人?係乜理論? 合理嗎?

Yes, you are right. But she believes Vic student will have difficulties going to local school. We cannot say she is wrong as there are many parents cast doubt on how Vic students can go to local school under the "happy curriculum". If she does not believe in Vic's concept, it is better for her not to pick this school.

有時睇得 ek 多我都會不其然問自己究竟我想搵間適合阿女或我自己認同的教學方式嘅學校，定係揀間龍校所以我以後幾年都有 back up 唔洗煩？究竟係就自己定就細路？
我自己會 accept Victoria 個 offer 因為佢返咗半年 playgroup 希望佢會比較熟個環境，但係如果我有 kcs 及 rhs offer, 我相信我會揀 kcs, 小學點都好過 rhs 啦，佢唔 100% 收返幼稚園係麻煩，但係 rhs 小學一般，我覺得放棄 kcs 太可惜了！無奈 kcs 及 rhs 也 reject 咗我個女，唔係我會首選 kcs!

that's only my choice, not everyone can accept, that's totally understood. as i said i think the shcool is a good one too, otherwise i won't go to have interview. Just after consideration i will choose other instead. the school fee is really high, that is true, am just ordinary family, choosing the comfortable one is reasonable.

but i want to say "一個小朋友的失敗代表全部人?係乜理論? 合理嗎?" is a bit impolite. in frank, it cannot represent all but thats only a real case for sharing, i think i am not the only mum thinking of the same question too... my both sisters studied in Vic many years ago too, just I am the exception. I do think it is a very good one indeed.

just like at the same time i gave up second in of St Cat, originally i just want to 見識, never think i can hv the second chance, so finally didn't go as I reli cannot afford the school fee, school bus ( i live in HK side ), need to hire another maid and also the book fee ( every semester need to pay thousands to buy oxford tree readers, even school trip to Ocean park charges $500 per person, photos prints charge u $100 for a CD.... 100% real cases )

therefore, i am not disliking the schools, just not suitable for my family only...

please don't misunderstand and am not trying to spreading bad impression of the school, just want to discuss something here...

please don't be angry, am not arguing with any one of u, getting the offer is surprise to me as I have no advantage n bonus in the application, i assume i am the failed one too...

Is debenture refundable? I don't feel it's fair to release 50 debentures for the priority. I also don't agree with their selection process. It's not clear, consistent and open to all the family. Some people got e-mail, some people got phone calls, some people got in or not chosen without/with 2nd interview. There are so many things you can do to cut the line, such as buying debenture, attending their play group......etc. It's very confusing and not public.

我就係想不通除了這兩間還有明慧, York , 原先無想過有Vic, 突然有就搞到陣腳亂晒於是周圍問讀緊ge 丹朋友結果不一於是更加亂但維記學費係最貴小學又一定讀唔起 $8900 per month, 所以唯有放棄...

我都明全龍半龍校的吸引，我揀 Vic 而 give up 啓思同衛理堂都係因為阿女返緊 playgroup 熟環境，希望佢會快啲習慣自己返學。我一間九龍都冇報，因為根本唔打算咁細個要過海。我相信你同我校網一樣，所以唔太擔心會派得好差，唯有到時先算。我都學得維小太貴，所以未係冇 choice 都唔會揀。我自問唔係好谷仔女嗰種父母，所以想 kg 個 school life easy 啲！

真的，幫小孩做決定，比決定自己的事難很多。我覺得PN選victoria而不選KCS，尤其是女孩，應該不會後悔，感覺上KCS的設施、環境不很適合幼兒。喜歡的話K1可再考KCS。
