I guess DGJS hv no preference on any kindergarten, but ALL those can get a seat for DGJS hv good English standard. So, from "previous" statistics, good command of english is a key to get a seat. However, the interview conducted in this year, not only focus on English, but also Chinese. I guess the statistics will change a bit in the coming future.

Totally agree. Also, academic test is better to know kids than just chatting or oral testing.

I get the second int offer. I agree with you that CKY asked a lot of academic questions this year. I are surprised too as last year was not the same. We think it's a bit against their school vision but cannot deny this is the way to select smart kids. However, still think that this is a very good school.

Seem we still need to wait for 3.5 weeks to get the result.

I try to manage expectations (my family and my girl) and don't give too much hope..... it's not easy to get the seats as the girls entering 2nd interview are actually very smart ones.

As some parents said here, it may not because our kids not smart enough but just that this is not the most suitable school for them.

Hope this makes the waiting easier and also feel happier.

I assume no hope already. For those girls mentioned here are so smart. (especially get many good offer from famous schools) So, I m assume my daughter fail to get a seat of DGJS.

Same for me. Though my girl got some 2nd interviews including for TSL but she is only on waiting list (not even the top of the waiting list as no call today). Currently just get seat from a seat from private schools, that are not too popular, in the HK side (where I live in Kln side). Actually when I learnt that we are on waiting list of TSL, my confidence is eroding...

joeyxlma, 唔好灰心 .. 遲些一定會音樂椅大執位 ... 現在有間渣手 .. 六月再叩門 ... 我都唔咁想太多 DGJS .. 因為其它POST說大多是主要收CCKG/SPN/SPK的囡囡,我囡囡不是這些KG.而且家庭背景實在普通得很,不過對囡囡本身, 我是很有信心的. 只是,叻女咁多,學校亦有其CRITERIA. 最好還是先MANAGE一下自己的EXPECTATION.

明天會開開心心去SFA註冊.這是我第一次註冊 .. 之前有的數個OFFER全部都冇留 .. 明天一OFFER在手 ... 會實在好多 ...

SPN/SPK is preferable?
I knew a girl whom is very top in SPN also rejected by DGJS in 1st interview
Her spoken Eng, PTG and maths r reli amazing me but her outlook is very active

Actually I loss confidence as my girl is sick on the  second interview date of DGJS.  Ans she is not doing well in second interview date of TSL too (...well, she will tell me a lot if she is doing well, like what she did in those 1st interviews).  No matter her sickness is an excuse or not, it already proven by TSL result.  That's why I'm lossing confidence.

At the same time, I started to regret that I choose not to attend SFA's interview (as the time clashed with others).  Indeed, I beleive my girl is good at Eng and Maths academic and Eng oral, but not very sharp at one-to-one interview. Perhaps she has a good chance in SFA becx I think SFA's interview is more academic.  Now she doesn't even have a chance...

In fact I am not too bad and at least has some other privates on hand, like HK True Light.  But I cannot stop myself from feeling sad.

It is great to have BK so that we can share and perhaps get some encouragement.

Hope all of us got our dream school.

I think your girl is very smart and can go to DGJS. They do accept a lot of students from various KG.

I do also from a very very normal family with no great background. I think DGJS also not looking at the family background.

I visited my doctor today, her daughters all studied at DGJS and DGS. They graduated years ago. She said the school looks for professional or middle-class families that show they have heart to nurture kids. So, we still have chance.

joeyxlma, sorry that i have raised the topic about managing expectations and it seems making you feel bad. but it's a very long waiting.

actually, i agreed with other parents that by june next year, many will give up offers. after all, we just need one offer right?1 like other parents, we just register one school only. i also tell my girl which school she will go to so she knows her journey ahead.

I think parents targeting those super top schools like DGJS should be all very dedicated in nurturing their kids. I have also put in a lot of effort in preparing for this P1 admission game, I used to think that my kid is quite smart, however, those rejected letters we received tell me that we are wrong.....

Hope we all have a great reward by the end of this game.
