WYmom and Bau,
As far as I know, most international schools teach Putongue as well.  I am not good at Putongue, so I will speak English when I talk to them. But I find that kids pick up Putongue very quickly.  In St. Mary, there's just 1 lesson per week, but I found that she handle quick well.

As I am a working mother, I am not an active participant in school activities.  My daughter is quite ok so I just communicate to the teacher via the diary if needed.  There's one time a leave message to her teacher and she return my call after 8 o'clock.  On the other hand, I keep close contact with a few moms so we can check anything in doubt.  Now that my daughter is in P2 and she can handle things independently or discuss with classmates.  Another channel is via the class representative of the parents club, but I never do that.  On religious activites, they arrange several activities every year.

I cannot answer you much because I am rather passive in this area.  We usually follow instructions instead of raising ideas.  Did I help?

Your girl was studying in PLKAYSF, so she can handle all english work in St Mary easily?

My one is studying in the same kinder and I find the english there is quite good. Why you choose TSL?

Just share with you my case.  
My daughter is in P2 now.  She got average marks 90 and rank 5 in the class.  I am quite satisfied although I think she can do better.  Last year her average marks is 93-95 and rank 3/2 in P1.
However, her teacher is not satisfied and keep telling me that 90 marks will rank after 10 in other classes.
I know she is a nice teacher and all kids like her but does she knows how much pressure she puts on me?
One more thing, she complaints about the writing of my daughter.  I know that and have pushed her everyday, rubbing away all her homework if the words are untidy.  With the added pressure, we have to work even harder everyday.  It's really a very big pressure to me and my daughter.

成績表上個禮拜家長會派左lu，對於我自己佢的平均分88.33，我可以接受，點知名次就好後，所以老師就話，不要看名次，全班第1名有成98.xx，咁你可以想像到媽媽壓力有幾大嗎？下學期必要加緊努力lu。
事實上說到壓力，小朋友係未有的，仲好愛返學同學仔同老師。功課每日只有3-4樣，仲要只係1D工作紙呀，作業等等，從來未抄過1次課文。

講住咁多先，開工la。

小女適應還可以, 成績算ok, 上學期test 各科一次, 只sci test 2次, 沒有測驗週, 在nov. 開始測, 時間由老師決定, 通常不會同星期/日有2科的, 全部要測的科目測完後, 就考試一些主要科目, 時間都好緊迫, 我就覺幫助小朋友溫書, 成績表有名次, 壓力就...見人見智. 而班主任我感覺幾nice, 見家長時都說可隨時打電話找她, 課外活動有大約9種, 都幾多樣化, 不過就要抽籤.

Hello everyone, I'm a past St. Marian as well. My daughter is just 15 months now. And I'm now doing some research on which school should I send my daughter to. Of course, I like St. Mary's. Both primary and secondary section. I agree that the English standard is good in the olden days. But as I remembered, I learnt Chinese Math from P1 to P4 and changed to English Math in P5 and P6. So I'm not sure whehter they did the same now or not.

It seems that it's too early for me to ask some primary schools questions, but I'm not quite understand in Round 1, 2 and 3. What are the differences between these 3 rounds? Can somebody tell me?
