幼稚園課程遭質疑過於艱深

《新聞刺針》昨天報道過香港有些幼兒幾個月大已經要上學，「起跑線」愈來愈早，連帶課程亦愈來愈深。

身為港大數學系一級榮譽高材生的立法會主席曾鈺成，花用了十分鐘都解不通的一條幼稚園高班題目，輪到大律師湯家驊試試。而連「 MISS MO 」毛孟靜都嫌深的英文題，是幼稚園學生的功課。

記者在全港九不同幼稚園搜羅回來的功課，有幼稚園高班教學生 EVAPORATION 、 PRECIPITATION ，即是「蒸發」、「降雨」這類英文生字，中文就要寫成語「和藹可親」，默書默「美麗的中國」。學生還要學懂閱報，接著寫篇讀後感，每星期都要做的，老師會逐篇批改。

李南玉是幼兒教育專家，主理浸大附屬幼稚園，標榜不催谷寫字認字，每個月教一個主題，學四至六個生字。同樣是幼稚園，元朗一間幼稚園要求低班學生每星期默書、每學期考試，屯門一間幼稚園則偏重抄寫，這些都是違反學前教育指引，被教育局視學時發現，在質素評核報告要求改正。但教育局只可以管學券幼稚園，沒參加學券計劃的教得多深、默不默書，教育局不會管，亦管不了。

我好記得，幾年前星期 x檔案問路人幼稚園學的生字，係名詞多，比較深係 Astronaut 和 igloo 等，好多人已經唔識。幾年後進化到更抽象的更深得多的字，和幼兒生活和能力完全脫節。

童年本是樂無憂，奈何变了悲無限！

這種課程完全是浪費時間。浪費孩子，化神奇為腐朽，四歲的功課可以做到喊？快些用碎紙機剪爛，以免被感染。無腦的人整天喜幹無腦之事，可以把天真的家長騙上十年八載。家長上當是自討，孩子的光陰非常寶貴，使不得。

幼稚園階段應著重引發孩子對文字的興趣和尊重其好奇心，鞏固自律牲，啟發同理心。做得好是難中之難，做到了是易中之易。

日後一天可以學得多到難以置信。當我還是等同小貓小狗的智商時，請不要迫我。

學晒啲深嘅英文生字真係咁有用嗎，我曾經在英國上一個short course時，有一個以西班牙母語的同學，好多淺字都唔識，如stamp等，但在和其他人溝通上，就與本土人冇分別！

But international schools teach similar vocabulary from year 1. The thing is local kindergarten teachers not just teach such words by telling the Chinese meaning and ask students to recite. These vocabulary should be introduced as part of specific themes so that students understand the context of using these words.

Agree. Those Astronauts type noun words are not a problem if they are "used" in kindergarten. But Parmanian frog is meaningless or extremely boring to kinder kids.

That is the stupidity the way English is learned in HK, right?  People think the more difficult the words are, the bigger achievement in English. People boast how many words a child can memorize, popularity of flash card, etc.
