Core Maths is very basic, may not have synergy.

Some schools use S4 to complete Core and the two solid years for M1 or M2.

部份大學學院制收生，是有機會收沒有修M1/2的學生入讀！部份大學最近轉了學科制收生，物理及M1/2有更清楚的要求，多數不再考慮 combined science！

我參考過個別大學(非三大)的工程系學生的工程數學合格率，修M1數(多數考得不太好，例如2)有32％肥佬，修M2數有18%肥佬，如果未修讀過肯定追得好辛苦，我亦訪問部份學生，他們表示如果收生說明M1/2必需，他們不會貿貿然選工程！

For the school in Eastern District case, you are correct.

Their original plan S4 only Core and parallel Core with either M1/M2 in S5-S6. Only an exceptional case (one class), the progress of that class is excellent, so S5 just focus on M2 and they have the same teacher (Core + M2). It's not a general case for the whole school.

In the latter part, I can't find it and can't remember what did I say. If you can find it, please let me know.

No matter what, I have no intention to belittle EK web pals, if there is misunderstanding, please accept my apology.

Correct.

For first tier overseas universities also need good Maths standard for Economics.

Same for Actuarial Science, Risk management and Quantitative Finance.
