DBS application timetable specifies that applicants will be invited to attend an interview in Jan 2014. Anyone received interview letter? For DBS parent - please share interview format and studying lift at DBS. Million thanks.

只係收到信話“已經收到你的申請，1月底才會另信通知面試”

我囝囝下年升中。DB分咁多批見，各批考生有甚麼分别？

各方特異功能人士, 如各項運動, 中西樂器, 於1月中前會收晒. 1月尾係DBS大圍既interview, 會選成績好既一批人面試.

For receipient of only acknowledgment letter, does it mean a rejection? When will interview start? Anyone received invitation to attend interview? If positive, by phone, letter or email?

I think it doesn't mean the rejection letter. This is to inform you about the time when they will issue the interview letter (in late Jan 2014).
Has anyone of you received the interview letter?

Not yet received any letter. But remembered they once mentioned letters will be sent in Jan.

This is also what I have gotten from the School so far. My son has no special talents. Hope he has a chance to be interviewed.

由學校音樂科主任及老師，另有幾位高年級音樂師兄一同面試。自選兩首不同風格曲目試奏，能背譜當然理想，但亦可睇譜演奏。面試期間要奏曲諧測試，亦會聊天幾句，如問為何你會選這校等簡單問題等。只要表現自信加謙虛就OK㗎喇！Good Luck！

一般人認為有8級起碼才有機會音樂測試，但其實重點不在於有8級證書證明，要睇埋你D音樂background，如從小學習音樂？有演奏、比賽、樂團、獲奬.......等經驗或成績？跟隨哪位音樂導師學習？以上種種因素都足以證明考生係真正玩音樂嘅，非為考中學而演奏3隻考試曲取8級證書。妨且音樂測試後，就知道考生是否真材實料？所以有的甚至考到所謂八級或聖三一演奏級(AT)，都未必被學校取錄㗎！
不過話雖如此，五級以上程度係必需嘅！(有七、八級當然比較理想）
