其實如何確認是band one 頭呢？我的愚見是：大部份band one頭的學生應該被一級直資名校(如SPCC, DGS, HYS，SPCS等）盡攬了，所以如果肯定是band one 頭學生，應該毋需苦惱報那些直資，答案一目了然！

My daughter is  全級考5名內 from P.1 ~ P.5 .

She will apply DGS, St Paul Convent, St Paul Co-Ed., Good Hope.

I have the same "problem", but not going to apply for girl schools, so there seems to be very few top tier DSS and/or traditional schools for my girl.

I said very "few".  SPCC of course very top, but need a lot of luck to get.  So basically will apply but assume will not get in.  Hope you understand what I am saying,  DSS school either those B1A, and many girl schools, next tier B1C/B2A, seems no B1B level.  So my best chance for DSS schools will be the latter, and for my daughter, seems not a too good choice coz she is clearly B1A.

If your girl is "clearly B1A", she will have a good chance for SPCC.

Moreover, if you prefer to have a co-ed school, there are still many Govt/Aided schools to choose. e.g. LW,  TST, CCSC, QE,  ...

By the way, the banding of a student is determined by 3 exams. At this moment (Oct/2012), most P6 students should have taken 1 of the 3 exams only.

不二之選, 非 Harrow International school in Tuen Mun 莫屬.

幼兒園至中學每年學費介乎10.6萬至14.5萬元 ；每年宿費7萬至8.4萬元，購買300萬元的資本證書或60萬元的債券，有優先入讀的機會。

朋友個女嘅同學個表哥的同學，選港姐, 頭三名，能歌善舞，獎項無數，家住青山，思考力好有問題，但有四十二吋長腿，高人吧﹗她的建議是這樣人材，BAND 3 學校最啱，但不是去讀書，是去教書。

全港三分之一學生有是Band one，如果Band one 再分頭中尾(B1A, B1B, B1C)，即全港九分之一的學生是Band one頭。例如60,000學生，便有約6700個B1A學生，上述那些一級直資名校，有足夠學位「盡攬大部份band one頭的學生」嗎？

很多有聯糸小學,還有單非,双非學生good at 中數,爭位.....

For top tier DSS schools, I would say there are place for ~400 girls and ~350 boys (there are subsidised/government schools, but they are on different rules of admissions).  

DGS/DBS    100 each (total 200) [excl. those admitted from its primary school, same apply to SPCC etc.]
SPCC          100 for both boys and girls
yeep Han     100 (?)
St Paul's Convent 50
Good Hope   100 (?)
St Paul's Boys 80
Ying Wa        100

Students may not have chance to choose from DSS and government / subsidised schools, as DSS require successful candidates to sign undertaking letter to give up central allocation places.  Therefore they are not direct substitutes.  Assuming Government / Subsidised will attract as many B1A students, it may be 1500-2000 B1A students who are lucky to get into the very top schools.  For this number to translate into number of schools, it is equvilent to 15 top tier schools in whole territory.

我同意你呢個說法 !   尤其地區名校, 真係有好多好多 band 1 頭學生入去讀, 有時直資學校未必係所有人杯茶.
