1) left from F2 -
移民去美國, 讀普普通通high school then 普普通通大學, 後來入了HSBC 做Hedge Fund Manager, now promoted to management level !!!
2) left from F3 -
移民去加拿大, 又係普普通通high school then 普普通通大學, 而家做研
究生, 佢professor 話propose 佢取獎學金去哈佛大學再進修
不約而同既係, 2個朋友都係 SPCS 讀到要見家長, 平均分80幾已經好差咁話. 問屋企係唔係有問題云云 ~
咁你話SPCS 咩級數呢, 直情係超班啦 !

恭喜恭喜！SPCS收得你囡囡，咁佢一定好叻好叻，記得幾年前我大女考入SPCC時，佢全form最勁最超班果個都係揀左SPCS，如果吾係咁嘅話SPCC都輪吾到我地，對於我家的選擇，SPCS一定排在HYS和GHS之上，所以再一次衷心的說：恭喜哂，願主保佑！

Maybe her efforts in book reports and both of her/our interview performance have helped her a lot. Or maybe just by luck.

I don't think she can be regarded as bd 1 student. I am always worried about her academic performance. Besides, this is the only offer she can be given. She's rejected in other school and even queried how she dared for applying the school based on her 'academic result'. Once, one interviewer pointed out her grammatical error directly.

I figure it's not because of luck. Now that your daughter was chosen, it implies that the school believes your daughter has the ability to graduate from its curriculum, meanwhile the interviewer(s) should believe your daughter and your family are fit for the school's culture. From your description of your daughter's interview at the other school, we know that you daughter was able to handle the difficult situation with decency. Such kind of child should be respected and liked by many people. Just spend some time in summer to go over those two subjects.
I’m sure your daughter will have a successful secondary school life.

衹要不是以人事關係入，不用太擔心囡囡能否讀得上。一切盡自己能力啦。其實衹要有心讀，一定問題不大的，亦不要太介意那些老師的說話，為人師表，連一點點“有教無類”的精神都無，衹懂看成績去胡亂判斷學生的整體能力，有這些老師的學校.........forget it........
向前看吧，又係果句，大家比心機，明天會更好。

One more point, my girl was also asked to attend interview at a government school. I felt very strange. Some of her classmates who have excellent result was not offered such a chance.
On the contrary, she could not have interview coupon from an aided band 2 school. Can anybody please explain why?

Http : it doesn't really matter. Once your daughter is in, she is there to enjoy her secondary school life. No matter what ppl say, try her best and prove her ability. She should be confident (that is one of "C"s which St. Paul's Convent School emphasises)

我唔係標榜甚麼名校，但越係高層次的學校，學校越對成績以外有所要求，就係我地所謂嘅文武全才，或者動靜皆宜。
成績只係其中一個環節，係需要，但唔好太強調成績。
不過樓主夠膽報這間學校已足以顯示樓主女女的成績絕非如樓主所講嘅咁普通啦，樓主你謙姐！

奧數、朗誦呢d好像毫不起眼，又好像好熟識的活動，分分鐘自己的小朋友都有十個八個。但其實d學校好鐘意呢d架！點解，奧數令小朋友會有一個logical mind，朗誦令小朋友熟習在一班人面前好冷靜地運用不同語調去表達情感，不但增加小朋友的自信心，起碼在面試時都較為佔優。
所以獎項唔需要太多，但的確可以係成績以外，搶閘讓校長或老師認識到同學的潛能，對揀選入面試的機會一定比只有好成績更高。

Just ask your daughter to enjoy her school life there!
My experience in these few days told me that if parents worried these and those, or have doubt on our daughter's performance; or have doubt about the school.... it really affect the gals on the down side...
So let's encourage our gals and be positive on their performance and results.

我以為好低分，原來有79分，
佢解釋話佢女學校的精英班80分才算合格
