想請問各位 St. Stephen's College 聖士提反書院是band幾？因為似乎眾說紛紜，有說是band one 中、有說是band one 尾、而更有說是band 2。我曾上網search 但又找不到一個確實答案。又或者有沒有家長的子女在此校就讀，煩請分享一下，這校是否大家眼中的一所好學校。謝謝。

要俾d時間學校去提升，話哂佢都係轉直資冇耐。我又唔會太在意佢係一尾一中定二頭，因為學校環境 Ichiban, 係香港好難搵到咁嘅校園。我反而諗嘅係學校嘅location，真係隔涉咗d,同埋自己係咪afford到學費
。

我覺得寄宿可以鍛鍊孩子獨立, 在香港可以這麼難得,有這樣好的環境學習及成長, 孩子表示會珍惜此機會,
另外, 不用太擔心親子關係, 重質不重量, 我相信大家會更珍惜相處時候.
男女關係?及早給子女教育, 讓他們學習正確男女相處之道, 就算不是寄宿, 也要處理這問題.

女兒很喜歡這所學校,事實上,幾天以來,翻看資料及詢問他人意見,得出幾個看法(好壞都有):
1.校舍真的很大(比迪士尼樂園還要大)很美(可比美某些大學)
2.設施齊全,尤其圖書館及藝術大樓(我女兒很喜歡視藝科)
3.英文好,英文科多由native English speakers教,中文科用普通話教(女兒也很喜歡英文科)
4.人才輩出(滿足我的虛榮心)
5.有部分學生家底豐厚,呆在學校hea,等待日子一到,便出國留學(看學校提供
的數字,多在中四升中五時走)
6.環境優美, 就像中大荷花池一樣乃拍拖聖地也,
7.寄宿可能會發生欺凌之事
得出的決定是讓她入讀,暫不寄宿( except 12 weeks mandatory bording programme)

St Stephen's College (Stanley) is not the same as St Stephen Girls. There is a separate page for St Stephen Girls. Maybe you can get more information.

I can share my understanding with you:
1. 要否必學一種樂器? (Yes, excluding piano)
2. 要否常常去聽音樂會？(not really)

Every student can apply for regular boarding before commencement of the next academic year. You can ask the school office for the application date or browse the homepage. The tuition fee excludes boarding fee, fee for ECA and fee for study tours. Regular boarders have to attend two sessions of "preparation" every evening. But the teachers may not be the ones teaching the subjects the student may have difficulty when doing homework or revision.

My son was a graduate of the St. Stephen's College Preparatory School and a band one student. He did not choose other secondary schools because he liked the school very much. After more than 3 years of study in this secondary school, my son still likes the school so I know that we have made a correct decision.
Frankly speaking, the academic standard is not as high as the most prestigious schools in Hong Kong, but the learning environment and learning atmosphere are good. Students in the elite classes (among 6 classes in each form, 2 of them are elite classes) are highly self-motivated in learning. They are confident and do not just passively receive knowledge from teachers, and have the courage to challenge them. Although they are competing for good results, the relationships among the students are good and the class spirit is high. This is what I treasure most.
As my son is in the first batch of students under the DSS, and I can see that both the school and my son continue to strive for excellence, I am very satified of my choice. If you want to know more about the school, I am more than happy to help.

我大仔係今年ssc F7學生, 由F1入去, 當年重係資助中學.
講下點解會揀ssc, 因為我地住南區(香港仔), 而我仔細個時有哮喘, 而ssc附近冇乜誘惑(7-11, 機鋪, 商場等), 所以自行揀左佢.....
整體其實7年學校生活佢都幾開心, 身體強壯左好多, 少病左好多. 同學間都沒乜問題, 曳學生一定有......
到轉DSS後, 我仔話情況開始有d變, 學校會偏幫DSS學生, 設施都會先讓比D...
後來高中(F4~F7), 對我仔黎講算不如意, 我仔係今年8x個(SSC好似佔7個)考AS phy其中一個考生....我地要求左校長兩年轉考AL phy, 學校都話唔可以轉, 唔想開先例....早知唔原校升F6, 轉去其他學校博自修!
F5好似冇行畢業禮........
老師方面ok既, 大部份教佢既老師都好好既..

Among 200 students in Form 1, about 80 of them are from their preparatory school so many of them know each other well. But there is no need to worry as youngsters can make friends easily provided that your kid does not hide himself away. This is an English school, so if your son comes from a chinese school, he may need some time to catch up as the English standard of those from the preparatory school is quite high.

Students study most of the subjects in English, including Mathematics and they learn Chinese in putongua. In fact, the mathematics standard is not bad. My son has a classmate who sat for the HKCEE in Form 2 and got As in Mathematics and Additional Mathematics and a credit in Chemistry. Last year about half of their Form 7 students got As in pure mathematics.

May be I just mention something about boarding. My daughter is now studying S2. She has been a regular boarder since S1 but she is going to leave the dormitory by the end of this month. Basically, she has become more independent and disciplined, but at the expense of spending less time on staying with us. Above all, I'd say that support for regular boarders in terms of academic, house rules and catering etc. has yet to be improved. It's quite inconvenient for the kids to go to other districts for private tuitions after school though they're allowed to do so. And there are insufficient study rooms for the boarders to study quietly after school (esp. during test & exam periods) or to practise musical instruments etc. Besides, there're inevitable conflicts among the students and sometimes with the wardens too.
But thanks for the present Principal who has spent more than an hour on discussing with me and my daughter about the problems she has been facing during these two years. Hopefully, there're some improvements for the remaining boarders in the future.

Among six classes in each form, two of them are elite classes. In fact the difference is not the teachers' quality but students's learning attitude. Students from elite classes are more self-motivated. Of course this may be the reason why they are in elite classes.

Hi all SSC parents, my girl studys in SSCPS G4, and we are thinking if it is right to let her go to SSC 2 years later. Because I know that SSC is going to offer IB, IGCSE and local curriculum. It looks a bit confusion and do not know if the school is really prepare for this.

In fact the school is offering help to those students who are also doing IGCSE. My son has several classmates (in Form 4) taking HKDSE and IGCSE at the same time. They have to take extra classes run by an organization in Causeway Bay after school. Although they are studying Form 4, they have applied for admission to Form 6 in UK in Sep this year. One of them was accepted by the Cardiff Sixth Form College and the other by the Tonbridge School, one of the most reputable in UK.
The school will introduce IB soon but I think most of the students will opt for HKDSE. IB and IGCSE are just alternatives for those who would like to study abroad.

The school has not announced the summer programs yet. You will be notified of the programs when they are released. In fact in the past few years, the school has organized summer courses held in Cambridge U in UK for two weeks. Students could choose either science or English. My son did join the one on science and he liked it very much. The courses were taught by students from Cambridge U. Other schools from Hong Kong, e.g., St. Paul Co-ed also joined this program. Students from different schools worked together as a team.

雖然我孩子並非此校學生, 但認識都有8位(有4位早已畢業)正就讀的中學生(1位由外區小學轉的). 每次見到這些同學仔, 都感到他們學校生活相當愉快(應該說身心都健康), 動靜皆宜, 喜愛他們的學校, 英語水平及音樂樂器方面唔錯, 跟別人相處容洽等等. 我想跟學校環境及教學辦學宗旨有很大關係, 心想: 唔一定要追求中學階段學術成績至TOP, 身心發展在長遠來說才是最重要呢.
