My kid has just applied for ILETS.  He has entered his surname and given name as requested online.  But the presentation of his name becomes "Given Name + Surname".  This is different from the English name (must be Surname first, then Given name) as appeared on his ID card.  He said there is no choice as to how to present the full name.
I believe the certificate showing the results will also has the same problem. His full name becomes "Given Name first, then Surname".  Example - "Tai Man Chan" instead of "Chan Tai Man".

Have other people encountered the same problem like my son ?  I wonder if this is acceptable when he goes to the examination centre where the centre staff will check his ID card, as well as applies for student visa in future.

Are you talking anout IELTS?

The name on the "Test Report Form" shown Family Name and First Name in different columes.

Thus, you got to make sure that they are identically same as his identificaion documents. Otherwise, your kid may be refused to take the exmination if fail to comply witht the ID verificaiton at the venue.

Yes, I am talking about IELTS.

My son said all automatic emails generated by the computer system refer him as "Tai Man Chan" (example only) instead of our usual way of "Chan Tai Man" or "Chan, Tai Man".  I just wonder if he will get into trouble if he applies the Student Visa or foreign universities in future as the full name looks different from his HKDSE certificate.  Foreigners may not understand that we put surname before given name.

So, the Family Name and First Name will be separately shown and clearly indicated as such in different columns ? If that is the case, people will not be confused which is the family name and which is the first name.  Thank you so much for your information.
