今天小兒到DBS面試, DBS的老師效率真是很高, 時間很準時, 給人的感覺真好。小兒話會談氣氛很好, 老師很親切。走前小兒問老師(中文):"我的表現如何?" 老師話:"我不能話給你知的, 但希望九月見到你。" 而小兒竟然話: "九月見。" 跟著兩個老師(中文和英文)都笑起來

; 面試成功與否, 這也是一次很好的經驗。

其實DBS得嗰幾十個位，佢哋响未正式in.人之前已經收咗好多等異功能同成績頭123嗰批，剩翻可能得10個8個位，而佢哋會以成績選取，而且應該早已有人選，所以都係show一場，仲賺埋係$50。

係真㗎！我知道同校一個有特異功能的已confirm入咗，係冇須經過一輪面試！！

還有D 老師到不尊重 INTERVIEW，阿仔話IN 的時候，他們在襟手機，D態度十分差劣。拔仔如果做 SHOW 都應做好D。
百年老店個招牌都被這樣的老師拆掉！
同LS 和 YW 老師態度差幾條街，入到都死！
應該回水！貪錢貪成咁！

態度問題都幾個人感覺。而DBS面試了400人, 即收了$20,000, 依據阿囝話有十個班房進行面試(即20位老師), 我又不認為這是貪錢, 這可能連成本也保不了, 只是其他學校無收取面試費用。

但這次面試的成功入學率真是很低, 約1800人申請, 約400人面試(個個都是很有實力的小朋友), 只有收40-50人(可能講多了)。但做人總要有希望, 因為囝囝真是很喜歡DBS, 阿囝剛才同我講, 如他有幸入讀, 他定必更努力。而我只可以話讀那一間學校也好, 也應做好自己。

收$20,000 成本一定夠，你的小朋友可能已經是他們考慮之列，祝你小朋友可以順利入到。
我讚成你說那一間學校也好，應做好自己。
這樣的感覺對我仔仔來說，真是前所未有，他對LS 和 YW的感覺完全不同。可能IN我仔的人自己的問題，可能樹大有枯枝，族大有乞衣。但我仔也說 DBS 學生很有禮貌，非常有善。

一年得二百幾個位, 放一百個俾街外, 當中學校推荐3-40個成績好的, 運動特異人士佔20個左右, 音樂特異人士又佔去十幾個, 當然還有那批後台特硬的, 照我估計真係能夠放俾我地呢班成1800人大軍嘅位, 相信唔超過40!!!!!!!!!!

我和仔仔都去了幾間直資中學面試, 大部份的老師都好認真地同小兒傾談去了解他的學習態度和生活習慣(我要和他一同in的), 我覺得這類的學校先有heart 去關愛小朋友. 可能DBS係另類啦

我無去過其他直資IN呀, DBS不收, 我會一心一意去自行了。所以我都無什麼經驗。

YW交表收$50，是否所有學生可以IN，我也不知道，最後我也交了表。我仔表示YW
INTERVIEW老師的態度跟DBS好得多，其實DBS在做什麽，我真不明白？這場SHOW 做給誰人看，要他們自己才知道。

Reminder for parents:

1. It's extremely difficult to get into DBS, I can't say all, at least most boys are capable and very top in HK. Even our boys are top boys in our primary schools, in DBS and among applicants will become mediocre, we need to accept that.

2. In April, when you received the reject letter, don't be frustrated; read the last paragraph carefully. You can apply for written exam in June and sit for exam in early July, as you applied before you, only need to submit most updated info and may be selected for exam, purely academic (Chinese, English and Maths.), no interview and no special talent. Think about it. My son got in through this exam finally.

3. 6 years ago, around 90 students sit for the exam, 10-12 accepted.

4. As admitted in July, he will miss the streaming test and may be in split class in G7. If he is doing well in G7 and he can stream to elite class in G8.

3 years ago, my son was accepted by DBS, SPCC and YW.
He finally chose DBS.

Like all of the applicants here, he has gone through the interview in mid February in DBS.
Around 2 weeks later, he was invited to take music auditions. He got the acceptance letter from DBS before the end of March.

My son did have a classmate who was the top 10 in the school (with sports and music talents) and got accepted in December.
He told my kid that when he went for registration, around 15 kids in other schools had already signed up in DBS, hence the no. of seats left was very few (bearing in mind that DBS still reserved 40-50 seats for DPS).

On the interview day, the school hall was crowded with interviewees and parents and I could see that most of the kids (in their uniforms) came from elite/prestigious primary schools.
It was therefore quite a surprise to my kid when he got the acceptance letter from DBS.

My husband is NOT an old boy and we do not have any religious connections with the school.
Hence don’t make any presumptions.
Just ask your kid to try his best and he will do it.

I really appreciate小小bb’s kid.
I hope to see him in DBS in September too.

My understanding is from 2010 onward, only 10 seats for DPS, the balance reserved for external applications. Better chance compared years ago.

Why chose DBS, not SPCC and YW?

All three are DSS, had your son applied to other Aided or Government Secondary schools ?

戲，假一場就夠了，還得年年假，年年做，還有這麼多人捧場！明年今日，戲還是在做，只是換了一班小配角。

Your assumption is a show..... If it's not a show..... Keen competition is the key, the chance is slim.

我都不明白為什麼認為這是一場戲! 最少我孩子是很認真的, 他亦很希望依靠他自己的實力入DBS。

可能DBS心中早有所想的學生, 但也要見見是否合適, 但人數之多, 又不得不快點完成面試。而且我喜愛DBS的其中一個原因是, DBS不用面見家長, 我喜歡小朋友獨立, 都中一了, 要成長了, 六年級起的考試我都無同我個囝囝溫, 我認為如果他無獨立及無自學能力就等如無資格入D好勁的中學, 因為這些中學的要求他未達標, 我學緊放手, 我要他獨立, 我特別喜歡DBS有寄宿。

Most DSS school admission based on Territory-wide Rank Order List, but only based on the 2nd term exam results of P5 only (e.g. DBS, DGS, SPCC....). They want to pick the best of the best and the timeline of admission process start earlier.
P5 result is so critical for DSS admission.So work harder in P5 and not just P6.

DBS not fit all boys and parents, you have the right mindset for DBS.
When we talked about monster parents, we prefer our kids more independent, but some parents prefer to sit in S1 interview........... they should join other DSS schools, good for them and their kids. Too demanding schools, may not fit their stomach.

I joined a DBS University Day 2 years ago, one of the old boys is an Admission Officer of a well known university from Canada, he shared with us that most kids accompanied by parents must be from HK and PRC. What he did was asked their parents out of the office and discuss the programs with the kids only. He reminded us that they are adults, not kids any more, trained them up before its too late.

我欣賞這裡能讓家長表達自己感受和與別人交流, 我多數看甚少發言。但路過這裡也想說說, 我也曾是過來人, 明白每位家長都想找適合的學校給小朋友, 所以在選校過程中難免對學校有不少心聲或見解。但有些家長見到別人批評該校時, 便立刻發言捍衛, 相信大部份家長到來都是發洩一吓, 多些包容會好D.
純屬個人觀感, 不喜勿插。
