認識有個小朋友已經IN了, 收了, 要註冊的亦都註冊了。未IN就要等到今個月尾收信。

他一心一意考QC。我打了電話問DBS, 他們話會在新年後才寄信, 最早也要26,27日才有信收。

他是否很有信心QC會取錄，他是否有特異功能，聽講QC好難入。

個小朋友睇落都很好。但第一都好睇是邊間小學，名小學就佔優、八級鋼琴都要睇取得乜成績、朗誦冠軍是叻、但唔少人都有、乒乓球校隊是團體，最好個人取得靚奬就好好多。

同學囝哥哥現在讀緊DBS，佢講如果操行唔好，可能會影响到冇得 in 。所以無去問學校関於 acknowledgement letter掂解收唔到。

All applicants will receive the acknowledgement letter no matter have interview or not. So it should be mail lost.

Around 300 applicants will receive interview letters in this round.

到現在都未有bk 會員收到任何信,莫非 acknowledgement letter 要到3月尾收哂學生,才一次過有得in 但落販和冇得in 發信

如p5 下學期全級十名內,,p6 上學期下降30名,唔知有冇機會?

DBS是要求我們給小六學生資料表, 聽聞可以憑這些資料CHECK全港排名。講真我只是新手, 其他家長會叻D。

都有D獎, 但不算是特異工能, 有D數學公開獎(但不是最TOP那些, 英文比較好(在校內), 英詩獨誦有多年的個人獎, 而最特別都只是得聯校的傑出學生獎, 彈琴都只是五級(四年前), 現在都無考試了, 所以信心也不大。

今天也收到信了，都是下星期六上午；小兒很開心，因為已有心理準備不獲面試機會。
小兒沒有特異功能，讀老牌屋村小學，也沒有怎樣得過獎，又不是全級頭三名，只是發展較平均。
所以大家也不用太緊張，平常心就好了。

What kinds of students they wanted besides those talented? I believe not all students are talented, I need down to earth advices from parents with kids already enrolled in DBS....

1) academic
2) leadership (not many primary school students demonstrate their outstanding leadership, am I wrong?)
3) music (I don't understand why have to be grade 8 (or this is only a myth not reality) if you really appreciate music, you won't rush for competitions or exams)
5) Maths (it makes sense becase they want students with good logics & with good intellectual competence to handle learning)
6) Language (both Chinese and English or just English will be fine? not understand why English has to come first?)
7) Confident (what is confident? love himself? good self-esteem?)
8) Conduct?? (including???????)
9) They want all the above qualities? or they preferrable "obsessive" with certain kinds of kids to be enrolled in their program?
10) Parents' family, socio-economic background important or not?(do I need famous people to write reference??)
11) Religious background important or not (do I need a famous pastor from SKH to write a letter??)

Traditionally, DBS is renowned for its excellence in academics, music and sports. Students’ mottos like Never Settle for the Less, Strive for the 1st and 2nd is loss etc have already reflected its traditional value.

Its admission policy is also the foremost and earliest in that in Dec every year it has already admitted a number of academics elites from famous primary schools, music elites and sports elites whereas other famous schools like St. Paul Co-edu and Ying Wa have not started interview in Dec.

As far as I know, DBS has admitted at least 20 students from several famous private schools in December not mentioning those sports and music elites from other schools. So the remaining places left for the official 1st round interview on 11 Feb on about 600 candidates are subject to keen competition.

Its orchestra is conducted by students wheras most orchestra members have already possessed diploma qualification. Except for Chinese orchestra, Grade 8 plus some first or second prizes in school music fest seems to be the basic requirement for music route admission. Remember Grade 8 distinction piano and speech would not contribute to its school orchestra and wind band so there are no competitive edge in learning piano and speech for enrolling traditional secondary schools like DGS or DBS.

If your son does not possess the caliber for either the academics, music or sports, DBS may be the wrong match with your son.

面試程序 >> go to a room and talk to the Chinese teacher, then go to another room and talk to the English teacher

面試問題 >> read a passage (both chin & eng), then answer some personal questions
                  for chinese, request to read some difficult chinese phrases
                  no mandarin, only cantonese

衣著係點 >> wear uniform

thank for your information. it is very usefull for me because i do not have any idea before. and actually my son do not have good acadmic and sport - many knifes and not one sharp. so when i receive the letter, i think i am dreaming. i can I assume the first interview will consider the interview behave more the p6 first school result. and this school have the second interview or not.

The 外來生in my son's class (including my son) all needed an audition (as 2nd interview). No 2nd interview means failure.

During the briefing, the admission teacher clearly stated that there will be no audition unless your son gets grade 7 or above in the musical instrument exam. :loveliness:

If u are music talent and have grade 7 or above, there might be an audition in March (for this year).
Otherwise, just one interview only. Music is not a requirement to get in DBS.

若有三種樂器grading，分別G8,G7,G5，又有玩開樂團，P4-P6都有參加校際音樂節和公開音樂比賽，當中曾得獎過三名以內，見的機會大嗎？各位請給寶貴的意見！因是新手呢！Thanks!
