Dear all esteemed parents,

小女是東區band1 (top 5 in the form), 自行 has applied BPS. Please kindly help me 分析 the following order.

(1)  BPS
(2)  中國婦女會
(3)  嘉諾撒
(4)  民生

Any chance to go to one of the first 3 choices?
會不會太搏 ?

Or should exchange no. (2) and no. (3), If put 嘉諾撒 on 2nd, 是否保守?  A very big headache!

For Eastern District, the ratio for allocated to an EMI is 6:1, that means only half of the band 1 students can allocate to an EMI, so, if you have failed in the 1st choice, it's meaningless to put another EMI in 2nd, 3rd and so on.

I think putting 民生 as the third choice has little chance. For the six Band 1 EMI, they will be filled (or very little places remaining) after the 1st choice. So I think only those put 民生 as 2nd choice or above has the chance. Remember some of the band 1 students may even put 民生 as the first choice to ensure entrance.

But for you case, you may take this risk, as your girl got good results, so most probably she has already got BPS discretionary place.

i agree with you, if the girl has good interview result for BPS, the parent can take the risk.

But one thing need to be ensure, whether the banding is confirmed and do your daughter has any talent on sport or music which can add mark for First round intake!

ksnghk, 萬分感謝你的意見, although my daugher said she performed well in the interview, there is really strong competition to enter BPS!!

其實係大抽獎時已經唔會理你考第1定考第80, 只要係band1就一齊抽, 所以係睇好唔好運.
至於自行時top5會唔會已經收左....記住自行時係全港不分地區, 唔係剩係你本區先會報BPS, 你要諗下自行時會有幾多過江龍黎爭? 我想講既係如果係好top既英中, 剩考第5未必夠....

同意，但這情況只是在自行跟第一志願（即隨機號碼亦不理想）皆落空時才會入民生，若是這樣選Band 1 中中的民生無疑比選Band 1 英中穩陣。注意首志願落選代表隨機號碼非前列的號碼。

正所謂有得必有失..
所以"博"之餘要諗定後路..
諗定最壞打算會係點..
有家長教落不妨報定"直資"做保險才去博..

若然真係好担心的話..
咪將民生放第二..
真的會隱陣啲..

但話番轉頭..
入左又怕唔甘心喎..
真係好難決定..

我咁睇..
"博" ~ 可能得, 可能唔得, 甚至更差..結果要自己承擔架..
但"唔博" ~ 就一定無機會..

1.張祝珊 or 婦女會
2.民生 or 金文泰

老師就 suggest:
1.張祝珊 or 婦女會
2.嘉諾撒 or 聖馬可
3.民生 or 金文泰
老師重話係較保守既意見tim.

Band 1學生的男女比例係1:2，但細分下是：(大約啦)
Band 1頭  女3：男1
Band 1中  女2：男1
Band 1尾  女1：男1

Band 1頭女生選校傾向：
自選1st & 統一1st：庇理羅士
Band 1中女生選校傾向：
自選 2nd：嘉諾撒  統一1st：庇理羅士
Band 1尾女生選校傾向：
自選1st & 統一1st：嘉諾撒

因而估計，在可選擇的9間學校中，兩間女校競爭是最大的。

同時，張祝珊、中國婦女會只屬地區名校，而庇理羅士則屬傳統名校，兩者分別是前者只吸納到同區學生，而後者則會吸納他區學生慕名而來。

相比下，東區小學普遍不及他區名小/英小，估計庇理羅士40-50%的自選學額，會被他區(軒尼詩官立、聖心等)的女生搶走。

**上述只屬個人意見，請家長們用心分析！

根據這制度，對男生可說非常不利
如葵青區６間英中（兩間女校）
假設每間學校有１００個位，共６００個位
同時ｂａｎｄ　１　生有１２００人，男女各佔一半
成功入英中比率表現上男女都係５０％
但男女校的英中男女比例從５０：５０
下跌到３５：６５，一些男女校的英中甚至要增建女廁
反映小六呈分試女生成績較佳,男生入英中更困難

同樣分數的學生，ｂａｎｄ1尾的男生容易跌band,應較保守
同樣分數的學生，ｂａｎｄ1尾的女生只要有突出校外成績(如七級鋼琴,校際運動比賽),可以較進取

bubblex2, many thanks again for yr comments. I had a break in Macau during the long weekend & had a lengthly discussion in the family w/ my daughter & my husband. The form was submitted to school this morning (good that we cannot it change the mind again...) We put 民生 behind Canossian, now pray for the luck & wait till 7th July !!!! davidmimi, mp3, tse530, ksnghk thank you for all yr input :)---
