hi moms,
anyone knows how many girls went for the test(not an interview at all) last sat?
we saw no. 200-558 in the afternoon, is that means only 358 girls got the chance for the test? any info from the morning section?
my girl made a mess with the test as well but it seems to be a very fair all rounded test as no one knows it format in before that gave a chance for our girls to handle something unexpected

My daughter (no. 5XX) took the interview in the morning. I think the total candidate is 358 (from 201 to 558) in the whole day.
I practiced with my daughter with 100 English questions before but none of them was asked during the interview. So, my daughter said that her interview performance was just so so......

my daughter said that the test is difficult n the Chinese part is the most difficult part. besides, she is followed by a very outstanding girl who speak fluent English and know Chinese question very well in her group, Which I know is a kind of stress for her to present.

My daughter did a mess in the Maths round.
I saw a girl crying after the interview and she told her mom that the Maths questions are more difficult compare with the test in Good Hope.

Hi,
Same situatiion of my daughter. The girl in front of my daugther is very smart in English, much better than my daugther. My daughter said that she was not afraid, but keep clam. She said that her performance was not good enough.

no problem,
i saw some girls even could not understand the instruction and left after one test or two!!! some discussed the maths in cantonese!!!
btw, do you know how many girls will be admitted? someone told me around 60-70 in this round? is that true?

Do you mean the girls discussed the Maths in Cantonese with the teachers ??
DGS will admit 100 students from other primary schools. Balance students will be admitted from DGJS.

So about how many students will be admitted in this round to the final round (interview with the Principal)? If they will finally offer 100 seats to outside girls, that means this round they will offer to at least a hundred something to the 2nd round? I wonder when will they send out the 2nd interview letter??
I heard some parents said they have referral letters from primary principals, priests or other relevant people, will these help? My daughter has nothing, just an application form and some awards

Only principals and priests from primary schools without direct secondary schools will prepare those letter for their students. We also got nothing at all :p
But we also heard students from the eng primary school has much much higher chance and they will allocate certain seats to students from certain primary schools each year... any info about that?

3 Years ago, my sister's daughter was in P. 6 (no. 1 in the form). Her primpary school principal asked my sister whether she was interests in DGS. If she was not interested, the principal would give the chance to another one. Finally, my sister choose St. Mary because she didn't want to pay the shcool fee.

Does it mean there is very little chance for Chinese Primary school students to get in?? I also want to know do they keep some quotas for some famous primary school?
Do they prefer girls excellent in sports or music?? If a child has Performance level in Music is the chance better??

It seems last year around mid Feb to 20th something, applicants have recieved the letters of reject, acceptance or been put onto the waiting list. I wonder this year, the time schedule may be late till March :(

The 2nd interview will be held by end Feb. So, I think that we can receive the 1st interview result by this week.

今年DGS的面試模式改了,有別於以往只由校長面試,所以不能用以往的日期作準了!不過我都已把DGS拋諸腦後,因為覺得唔會有機會2nd interview.

The 1st interview letter was received on Saturday. I think that the 2nd interview letter will also be received tomorrow Saturday !!

I hope you are right but still another stressful event if they call you for a meeting without an offer !!!
BTW, any idea of what students were selected for the test that day? we were in the pm section we heard someone said only students got reference letters from their schools were in pm but we got nothing at all??? Which primary school got more girls that day as we saw many different school uniform that day....
Let's start another day of waiting.....

以我理解, 應該是津校及官校是不收Reference Letter的. 但直資學校就可以收, 所以你要同貴校校長說清楚. 如我有講錯, 請指教 !
