As u will know from others, it is very hard to say objectively, cos different people look at the same thing very differently based on their own value and preference. For me, I would say ITLP suits my daughter very very much. She is the type who is active, curious, likes exploring herself than being taught what to obey.YC provides very free and relaxed environment for her to handle herself and with this environment, gradually, she becomes very confident in handling herself. Teachers are very caring as well. But if u are the type who likes teachers starting teaching words at this age, or preferring children sitting still to be read stories or singing songs together most of the time, this may not be your choice.I personally find that their style suits this age very very much.

Agree. No right or wrong. It all depends on your kid's character and what are your own values.

請問tutor time 和耀中 相似嗎?

作者: jeff76916 時間: 12-3-24 06:23
Broadly similar. In fact, all playgroups can be said to be similar coz they are all about doing circle in singing, reading stories, and individual time for playing games. they are however different in that their styles are different. TT's approach is more about expecting children to sit still most of the time listening. YC emphasize on letting children to explore and decide themselves what to play themselves. That is why it is necessary to ask yourself what you want your child to be.personally, I like free style for this age,coz toddler at this age got bored easily and I don't find passive learning (ie asking them to sit still most of the time) to be effective learning at this age

My daughter is now going to Yew Chung PN am class. What I like is their outdoor playground where kids can run around and expose to the sun every day (or every other day). Also Yew Chung organises a lot of talks/seminars for parents.

Yes, having an outdoor playground is a very very nice thing, allowing your children to have a good feel of the world and live with the world, raining day, shiny day, windy day. What can be more exciting than seeing the rainy day and allowing children to take umbrella going out to the playground to explore what the nature mother gives them, and also having sunshine in the playground when the sun is out.

My bb is just going to TT infant playgroup once per week now. Usually half PTH and half English each time. Sitting in circle and singing with teachers, listening stories, etc and some free play time. Just want my bb see more people and kids at this stage but want to plan if should stay there or change somewhere else.

Hi, your analysis is very good. My son's character is very similar to your daughter. I want to try ITLP for him but worry that this too relaxed environment will be a difficulty for him to adapt to traditional school life. My plan is to send him to local primary schools, but wish to explore and develop self-confidence during ages 1 -2. Can you advise if the ITLP helps in discipline and manner too? Can I have your urgent advice pls, thx.
Besides, do you plan to send your daughter to international school, that's why u choose ITLP?

I want to know how to get AM offer for 2 year old program, is it becoz U're studying in ITLP now? coz my little daughter can only get PM offer but her elder brother is studying in YC now, they said AM is full and needs to wait list
作者: jeff76916 時間: 13-1-22 21:41
If u aim at local primary school, speaking for myself, I don't think YC is in line with your thinking. The attentiveness and obedience required by local school (should be what you call discipline and manner, I guess) is not their teaching objective. Of coz, YC trains politeness, sharing and other virtues, but local school nowadays focus so much on academics and the requisite learning qualities of attentiveness and obeidence. U have to appreciative that since local school focuses so much on drilling on academics, they must choose students to be highly 'cooperative' in learning. For me, I chose ITLP coz I find their teaching of ITLP to be the right thing for that age

I don't know how to fast track your application for switch to am class wor. As for the choice of primary school, to be honest, I am still struggling..I am traditional Chinese, but I don't like Chinese drilling method, and Thai is the dilemma

Many thanks. I agree that ITLP approach is something for kids at the age of 1-2. Hope that he won't be too diffiicult to adapt after a year in ITLP and then going to traditional kinder at age 2.
Btw, would you pls share more what to do in ITLP? It's 2.5 hr long program each day!
