想請大家給些意見，小兒現有三間學校的offers，Caterham 最早有消息，所以已經給了一個學期的留位費。小兒應該會一路在英國升讀，直至完成大學。

學術成績方面，其實三間在GCSE及A level都有好成績，我想分別應該很小吧？

寄宿體驗方面，Caterham 寄宿生比較少，可能活動方面比較少？另外兩間寄宿比例高點，應該傳統英式的寄宿體驗比較強吧？

本地及外地寄宿學生比例方面，Caterham外地生應該比例上多過另外兩間？

其實對於英國寄宿學校的認識不多，還有什麼角度必需考慮呢？要怎樣合理地比較三者呢？

我個人意見如下：

1. 識我嘅網友都清楚，我認為去英國讀寄宿私校，首重全寄宿比例（呢樣同整體寄宿體驗有關，詳情可以參考我EK嘅日誌）。咁好明顯三間之中Oundle full boarding比例最高，而且冇weekly/flexi boarding。Canford寄宿比例都算高，亦係full boarding。而Caterham就算罷啦。

2. 第二樣睇嘅係學校嘅local reputation。Oundle係「全國性」嘅傳統英式寄宿學校（即係全英國都有人send仔女去讀，所以全國都有人識），有歷史有reputation。Canford都係傳統寄宿學校，相對上比較「地區性」，即係主要serve返南部／西南部家庭，咁喺呢方面就Oundle高少少喇。至於Caterham，好坦白講，冇咩歷史，香港人就以為係名校，當地人就唔算入流喇。

3. 至於成績，我都講過冇限次，睇數據真係冇咩意義。除非你話一間高另一間幾十個percent，否則我認為同教學冇咩關係。冇學校／老師識變魔術，唔會入咗間「整體」成績高幾個百分點嘅學校，自己個小朋友自然就會考高幾個百分點。而且成績／排行榜根本唔反映更為重要嘅寄宿體驗... （小朋友24/7住係學校，寄宿體驗直接影響心情）

你個list於我嚟講好易抉擇。有得揀一定首選Oundle，跟住Canford。Give up嗰一個term嘅deposit都係咁話。當然係我個人意見。

Total agree, 今日見到Guardian公司派來的manager佢係英國人亦都係Canford畢業佢都係咁分析俾我聽, 佢仲話點解香港人對Marlborough college ,佢個仔將會入讀這間Year 9.佢話同香港啲家長講起冇乜人認識這間學校,但我話我認識，英國好出名

香港冇人識唔奇，因為Marlborough College唔鐘意同agent合作，唔會俾commission，所以香港冇人會推。禾稈冚珍珠，唔識揀咪走寶囉...
況且Marlborough 呢啲全寄宿比例高嘅學校，成績/排行榜未必係最top。以香港家長乜都成績行先嘅諗法，走咗寶都唔知...

佢話係Downe House比人bully quite badly, 所以唔夠一年就轉咗去Marlborough College.

所以而家downe house睇bully好緊，可能係英國最冇bully嘅寄宿女校

陳生開果間agent有推介呢間呀，幾年前佢地免費派既果D升學指南書入面有推介所以知道，我自己都有將呢間放入心水List。

Oundle 既tutor support 同Pastoral care 我自己既經驗幾好；未入學前，自己可能最關心係成績/ranking 呢d ; 入咗學之後，隔山打牛，就明白呢 d 好重要。我嗰件唔係最 top 個d , 總有一di科麻麻地，同 tutor 傾，我問一句，佢答3句；每個 half term break 最期待收佢封1:1 email comment ; 連Housemaster 既comment都好貼心。另一個kid 在寄宿生比較小的學校讀，就反而冇呢個 feel

當然嗰別例子，睇你遇到甚麽人（tutor / housemaster)。
另外，Oundle 一個禮拜3 個下午 sport, 星期六上午都上堂，手機全個 term keep 係舍監到（放half term
早上個日先派回）。個 town 冇火車站（最近要20-30 mins 車程(emoji)），鄉郊 feel 冇咩 attractions (emoji)

建議你問下學校 tutor 比例，比 d 例子問下佢如果我個仔咁咁咁，學校怎樣 support 。硬件係 website 呀個 d compare 到，但軟件非常重要。

手機keep係舍監度，咁平日放學之後，家長都冇得同小朋友WhatsApp溝通？

冇。可以用 zoom .
佢放學香港已經夜麻麻，所以佢個 house 係 lunch time 之後，大約1:45 ，所以我哋臨瞓前已經傾完計，安安樂樂咁去休息。當然有家長反映過，不過都係照舊，儘量少用電子產品。
