藝術設計 ( art and design ) 課程包羅萬有，信手拈來就有繪畫設計、攝影、紡織、3D設計、珠寶平面設計、時裝、電腦輔助設計及美術設計等，不一而足。一般來說，較新的大學儘管排名不高，但比較實用，學員畢業後較易找到工作。學員在選大學時，要看清楚課程的內容是否適合自己，大學排名只屬次要而已。

杏壇絮語

‧香港理工大學工商管理研究院獲美國德州Dallas大學發表的‘Top World Ranking Business Schools 2006 - 2010’評為全球61名，亞洲第三及香港第二名 ( 資料來源：4月25日《Newsweek》)。

‧一位中五會考只得英文一科及格的女同學，獲Cambridge Education Group取錄，入讀美術設計Foundation Year，另加暑期惡補英文三個月，不必修讀中六及中七預科，居然獲得兩所英國大學的美術設計系取錄，足足省回兩年的金錢和光陰。

‧據《Guardian University Guide 2011》指出，全英設有Art and Design科目的大學多達80所，如果純粹用A-level成績報考，取錄分數最高，也即是最難考取的大學，是排第二名的牛津大學，入學分數高達443分。最低分數154分，竟然是高踞22名的Essex大學，反而排80名陪末席的East London大學，入學分數也要194分。大學指南的用處，不言而喻。

‧美國方面，「美術碩士」 ( Master of Fine Arts ) 課程最優的六所學府，依次為：
1 Rhode Island School of Design 2 Yale University ( CT )
3 School of the Art Institute of Chicago 4 Cranbrook Academy of Art ( MI )
4 Maryland Institute College of Art 4 Virginia Commonwealth University

‧英國‘QS World University Ranking’剛公布2011年全球醫學大學排行榜，冠及亞軍分別由哈佛 ( 美 ) 及劍橋 ( 英 ) 奪得，200名上名醫科大學中，香港大學排45名，香港中文大學排101至150名。
