想請問大家對這兩間國際學校有任何意見？
或有否用家的家長可以比心得？謝謝，感激萬分。
P.S. 正煩惱中在 JIS reception class vs AIS Grade 1 Junior class 作選擇！

Sorry I'm not familiar with AIS. For JIS,I've heard only positive comments. I've visited JIS and had a very good impression. Facilities and environment are excellent and students mix seems very diverse. I have submitted application for next year's intake.
I might be wrong - but JIS seems to be more selective than AIS.

I know one kid coming back to hk from china and got into ais and changed to another IS after one year, the parents told me many people use it as a stepping stone to wait for offers in other IS

Another kid I know went to ycis then ais as the parents think English learning is better in ais, the kid went back to ycis after one year

Both cases, the comments on ais is not very good

While all I heard about jis is positive, the only drawback is no secondary school (ichk is too far away for most people)

抺茶雪糕，其實無意冒犯，但好奇每個關於AIS學校既討論，你都比不同既負評這間學校，而你給的負評全部都只是聽說，本人小朋友亦是黎緊呢年入讀這校，想認識這校多點，請間你是否曾在這校的用家嗎﹖可以具體講多一點這間學校既唔好處﹖以我所知AIS係無IB所以唔太受香港家長歡迎外﹖還有什麼原因係我地大家都唔知的，麻煩可以講多點比我地多少少了解﹖謝謝！

I know some Education Consultants also not very recommend AIS due to their 校風 not very good. You can just stay in Kowloon Tong near AIS campus for 1 hour vs JIS 1 hour, you can find the significant different. But honestly, AIS has improved compared with 5-6 years ago.
It is not related to IB or not, for US expat, they would recommend HKIS, HKA instead of AIS as well.

其實我所聽到嘅都係用家直接話俾我知，我亦曾到學校參觀，覺得唔係咁鍾意，遇見有人問呢間學校嘅意見，就將自己知既講出來，知幾多就講幾多啦，如果因為係負面意見而收埋唔講，到討論區想尋求意見亦無意義了，正如我聽到朋友分享邊間學校好如jis我亦會實話實說

其實對呢間學校冇興趣，亦未詳細詢問朋友點解咁唔鍾意要轉校，佢哋簡單告知嘅都只係話你與課程鬆散，返學學唔到野，小朋友亦覺得返學唔知做咩等等，你可以話係兩個人嘅意見而已。既然你已決定比小朋友入讀，相信你嘅睇法係唔同亦喜歡學校，咁就唔需要介懷人哋嘅意見，每個人覺得合適與否同喜歡與否都唔需要同其他人一樣，相信亦有好多人鍾意依種比較輕鬆嘅學習環境

The host did not mention about school selection criteria and actually we are not sure how to judge and comment. I know some parents and kids in both schools and herewith some my understanding and suggested guidance

1. What scheme are you looking for? IB or AP? Which country you plan your kids to study aboard? Japan, US or others?
JIS: IB and AIS adopts AP
IB at kinder and primary is usually learning via play. More freestyle learning. It is applicable for universities in various countries
AP at kinder and primary: align with US edu system and recently emphasis on STEM. Suctured content. AIS has strong focus in Math, Science & Technology subjects
So also depends on your kids character how to fit in different approach

What community group you expect your kids in?
JIS: Many students are Japanese. They look for returning back Japan for university study
AIS: Quite mixed cultural kids from America, Asian and European. Many are American Chinese and Korean. Most look for university study in US

How’s teachers’ quality?
Both schools have good quality of teachers.Passionate and care

Kids stereotype
JIS kids are probably influenced by Japan culture and kids are in good displine. But I also see some boys with uniforms fighting each other in public

AIS kids are motivated to be active and presentable. They are polite and responsive.

Location
JIS in Taipo and AIS in Kowloon Tong
Probably you will prefer the school closer to your home?

Both schools were established with long history in HK. Nowadays most IS are at good quality and competitive, especially those well established schools are more organized with stable good teachers compared with new IS

雖然係讀international stream，但如果父或母唔係日本人，或者唔係打算係日本升學，無特别原因覺得Jis吸引。

Ais校風各樣一向唔少人有講法，咁佢係一間美國的IS，人地的民風習性確係唔同亞洲，咁亦唔等于佢有問題。如果攞教會女校果套去度，并唔公平。

Jis international steam 其實日本人唔多，大部分日本人去哂Japanese session. International session 的學生國藉很多元化。這方面可能比AIS 優。

另外，jis 校園環境不錯，比較spacious, 也有泳池，去過school tour 你會感覺到和ais 在硬件上有很大差距。

最後一點，jis 可以選日文，簡中或繁中。

所以JIS多數也是日本人子女讀，他們大些會返日本繼續升學，而AIS可直上中學，多不同國籍的學生就讀。

JIS 日本部，只接受日文是母語的小朋友，follow 日本curriculum, 你想讀都冇得你讀。中學好似係和港島的日本人學校有聯繫的。至於jis 國際部，每級只有一班，日本人必是少數，其實國藉非常mix, local 可能只有五分一左右。

I bet you have not been to JIS's school tour.
If anyone is interested in JIS, email their admission office to ask for a school tour. I managed to arrange a one-person visit to JIS the next day after sending an email. They are nice and flexible.

如果家長打算安排子女日後到美加或英國留學，就當然不會考慮日本oriented 的國際學校。 School tour 一般學校會包裝起來，最重要是課程適合、老師質素和口碑！現時的AIS, 已是一所不易入的學校，學生質素高，老師有經驗和專業，確是一所好學校。
不知是否一些網上打手故意多次抺黑某些國際學校，他/她們反而把一些比較另類或很新的国际學校大大推荐！

但其實JIS 行IB 㗎喎，好似ESF 咁。
其實我覺得最重要係家長自己去school tour, 同埋睇下d 課程係適合自己嘅小朋友.
JIS 係全英授課，唔係行日本個套。

我兩個囝囝十幾年前考JIS國際部

。

面試前已經知合格也好大可能無位，最後真的這樣發生了。

囝囝現在上大學了，

我

仍然記得當年面試校長 Mr. M 說過每班要平均收不同國籍學生，唔會則重某國籍，有時情願空著位置也不想破壞平衡。雖然無緣成為當中一份子，但欣賞JIS低調，不包裝，忠於理念。

要留意academic year. JIS好似year 6畢業係一月，去第二間學校讀year 7應該係9月開課，嗰半年唔知做乜。
