My kid just joined this year. I don't expect this school is very outstanding in academic. I only expect my kid can learn happily.

It offers British curriculum with four Mandarin classes per week. From what I heard from other friends, the academic is definitely not low as you progress to higher grades. Teachers and students are multicultural and all native English speaking. It doesn't require debenture as well.

佢curriculum 係英式即係點同IB/AP 有咩唔同，咁對升學有沒有影響？謝謝！

It follows UK (Cambridge) curriculum. Just like our old school days (if you went to a local school in HK), students do IGCSE in Year 11 (which is like our HKCEE in Form 5 back then), then the A-levels at the final year (which is like HKAL in our Form 7).
IB is a completely different system - their exit point is IBDP prorgramme for the last 2 years.

AP is American system - it is not an examination system (SAT is) but if you do AP classes, you may be able to get exemption from certain foundation level courses in US (or Canada?) colleges (depending on the college's policy).

For universities in HK: Any student undergoing a non-HK system, or non-DSE, will be undergoing non-JUPAs system of university entrance. My understanding is each university will have less seats for non-JUPAS than JUPAS system, but at the same time you have less candidates fighting for the slots. However things do change and we are having more international schools now, so non-JUPAS will get more competitive.

For overseas universities: it really depends on which country and which university you are looking at! However IGCSE and A-levels are very commonly accepted exams for university entrance.

I don't mean to be offensive (I don't mind answering questions actually) but my advice is perhaps you need to understand fundamentally what international schools are about. I don't think there is any international schools in HK, including KIS, which uses spoon-feeding system. This is the main, main reason why some local parents will opt for international rather than local schools. The teaching methods, homework volume etc may vary from school to school, but no, the spoon-feeding system is not used in international schools here.

You also need to understand that it doesn't automatically mean international schools have an "easier" curriculum compared to local schools. This will ring even more true as the kid goes up to upper forms.

我當然知國際學校跟本地是不同，但我見你之前答kis curriculum 似會考,A level 咁考試形式，所以想起我年代的教育（現在是DSE).所以問多句姐！如果你覺得問得唔好，可以不答！EK 平台同互聯網的發達也是因為想分享資訊，問得差真係唔好意思！我都覺自己係問得白痴左d 既！但因為對kIS 不太熟悉，自己又不是留學生，都是一般人，但很想揀一間適合既學比小朋友而已！

其實我相信mrcamel 的回答沒有表達你"問得唔好”的意思, 始終只有文字上表達而沒有表情及語氣的配合, 有時會引起一點點誤會.
我自己都多次詢問 mrcamel 有關 kis 的事情, 他真的回答好詳細, 但我其實私下不認識他的, 只在 bk 內有send message! 所以我真心的相信他是想幫大家了解kis的情況呢!

希望大家可以繼續在bk可以 happy share ~~

我仔12月1號就到KIS讀啦，我由忐忑到而家期待，忐忑係因為由一間極忙既填鴨學校轉到一間相對輕鬆既國際學校，好怕阿仔會覺得讀國際學校=唔洗讀書=任玩無憂

由9月到而家既local school life令我同仔都透不過氣來，小四比以前辛苦好多，不論課程同功課，密密麻麻的測考默，我原本本著盡力完成first term同仔一齊努力，但大家都力不從心，我仔算好肯配合我，冇因為會轉校而求其，但大家每日都好累，每日趕完成功課，跟住溫書溫書溫書，就係咁我而家極期待新環境，希望大家有透氣既空間，每晚有空閒一齊去做下運動，傾下計，愉快學習。

我好多謝BK有份share experience既jm, 令我由忐忑變為期待都多得你地share既每一人，希望我仔12月1返學後好快識到新朋友啦！

想問問. 同學係唔係多數韓國人? 小朋友間(主)韓文 + (副)英文溝通?
英文可以 train 到其他國際學校咁上下既口音,水平嗎 ?
