英基小學和幼稚園均採用國際文憑組織小學課程。（相片提供：英基協會）


英基學校協會（英基）發出通告，指屬下部分學校現均有少量2016-17學年的學位空缺，呼籲有興趣為子女報讀的家長應盡快申請。協會發言人指出，英基是香港最大規模、以英語為教學語言的國際教育提供者，轄下共22間學校及開辦的各類課後活動課程，致力透過個人化的學習模式及啟發創意思維，令學生盡展所長。


有學位空缺的英基學校如下︰

英基協會發言人表示，英基小學和幼稚園均採用國際文憑組織小學課程 (PYP)，此課程專為3至12歲的學生而設，專注學生的全人發展，培養他們在課室內外都具探究精神。


中學方面，英基學校採用校本設計、廣泛而平均的課程，接續綜合中等教育文憑 (GCSE) 課程和普通中學教育文憑 (IGCSE)資格。學生修讀不同的課程，包括英文、數學、科學、人文學科、創意及表演藝術、設計科技和一種符合學生不同程度的增補語言。啟新書院和智新書院均開辦國際文憑組織中學課程 (MYP)。


大學預科方面，大部分學生均會修讀國際文憑課程 (IB Diploma)。英基修訂各級課程，配合學習有困難的學生的需要，包括大學預科課程。我們的大學預科課程採用3組不同的課程模式，學生可按個別需要，為升學或就業選擇最適合的課程。


英基行政總裁葛琳女士指出︰

我們致力提升教學質素和水平，為學生提供世界級的教育。

英基入學經理黃慧敏女士表示︰

英基學校收生的考慮條件在於學生能否從英基教育中受益，申請者在面試及評估過程中，須展現出有能力應付英語講授的課程。

英基中央入學申請將於2016年 9 月 1 日至30日接受第1及7年班（2012年及2006年出生）的網上入學申請。有關詳情請參閱英基網頁。


英基個人提名權可供家長申請，以為子女獲得優先面試機會。英基提名權計劃（Nomination Rights Scheme）包括個人及企業提名權方案，讓符合英基學校入學要求的學生優先入讀。


此外，欲報讀私營獨立學校學位的家長必須於兩所私營獨立學校的網站填寫個別的申請表格。兩所學校均會向一定數量的優秀學生發放獎學金。家長也可為子女申請兩所私營獨立學校的提名權計劃，以為子女獲得優先面試機會。

No, only children born in 2011 or after will need to pay higher school fees.  For example, if a child born in 2016 got an offer for Year 6 starting in August 2016, that child will still benefit from government subventions and enjoy lower school fees than someone born in 2011 entering Year 1 in August 2016.

Your child should be going into year 2 in Aug (for born in 2010 unless special cases). So you will still pay the lower fee.

I am sure they do.  There are 3 students leaving this September in my daughter's class and yesterday 3 newbies came and joined for orientation day.  I think the rise in fees does put some people off from joining ESF.  Or may be more and more people realised English medium schools are less important nowadays.

Each year there are people leaving. Especially from Year 8 onwards to boarding schools.

The only year that have most applicants would be Year 1. And then some Year 1 parents always boast about how hard it is to get into ESF on EK. But the fact is it is not so.

Actually Year1 is really the most important time and the best time of students for entering a school!

I do not agree with "best" or not. Sometimes, it is not up to parents to decide.
The setting up of ESF was to cater non-local parents. So how can parents decide when to move?
So what is the problem with people applying to ESF at Year 3 or Year 5?

Yes, I think the message is in case you can't get in by year 1, it's not the end of the world and there are still always chances, just keep yourself equipped.

小學都只是港島的半山區和山頂有位。QBS and Kennedy School 也還是爭崩頭。這3間會收的outside of catchment zones 的學生也多只是港島學生。看來ESF小學在九龍和新界還是比較難入的。
如果有港島半山區地址可能比較容易。

幾個non ESF kinder 的朋友報 QBS Y1都連in 都冇得in, 我稔剩係siblings同 hillside 都填滿D位

Not really. My gal got in QBS by random draw. Few other friends from non esf kg also got interview chance as well.

Each year they do reserve a small portion for random draw.  Same case for all esf schools at central application procedure.

i believe there is always a chance. For my daughter’s kindy, esf Y1 acceptance rate is quite remarkable this year. Statiscally, those who opt for ESF (around 15 pupil) have all been admitted contributing 100%.
