may i ask how's the chance to get an offer for year 1 if we are on waiting list

It is hard to tell.
It depends on how many Y1 students are leaving in the middle of the school year. Like all schools, there will be movements- relocation, change of school, etc. But to my knowledge, most students stay through their years in FIS (unlike some schools which parents use as “stepping stones” to get into other international schools / schools without a secondary section - these schools tend to have more student movements).
And I do not think holding a foreign passport would give you any advantage at this stage, as you would not have been invited to an interview if you were not holding a foreign passport (I believe non-foreign passport holders can only choose Jardine’s Lookout as their preferred campus atm).

Top 30 on the list seems not very high chance as they only have 25x 2 classes in either tko or Jardine's campus. I understand that you will need to tell which campus you are lining up for. In case 5 RC students left which is already 10% of students, FIS will certainly call waiting list from the top, then you can only get a spot if 4 (or less) out of 29 took the offer which is less than 14%.. This is just my rough estimate, i am not sure how exactly it works but guess the chance is not very high...

Tko campus is nice but i am concerned of air and noise pollution due to the construction sites around the campus. Not sure how long the constructions will last for... Sigh..

Quick question, if I pass interview and currently on waiting for year 1, however no availability now. Will my application rollover to next year for year 2? If yes, any further assessment is required?

They said the interview result will keep until term 1 of year 1 so which is around January 2022.
If you don’t have any news by that time, your application may consider as unsuccessful.

We have no connection to fis
Um, I think their academic and students behaviour are pretty good
Based on fds’ recommendation
They said the school cares for students and management are good too.
Also quite close to my home

Stay or go? 
The current IB school is smaller but the teachers are very good. I like their Chinese programme in Traditional characters.
But there’s no secondary option either.

You are right, Chinese program is important too. Fis has weak Chinese level I believe

You may wish to check with the school bus company as Kowloon side bus is not shown on website. Limited routes too.

Are the secondary students good too? Coz I heard like drugs n smoking problem r quite serious in secondary school (but I m not sure if it’s still the case now? Or maybe just the French stream ?) correct me if I m wrong.

Really not sure about the secondary section as we are planning to leave Hong Kong after primary school
However, smoke is a cultural thing in France, almost everyone in the country likes to smoke
for the colleges in France, I heard they even have the smoke area and smoke break for students. Definitely not in hk.
