Dear all, would like to ask for some advice from all of you. And it would be helpful if any existing HKIS parents can share your view about the school too.

My son is currently studying at Malvern College P1. He’s happy and we are mostly satisfied with this school. We’ve just received a call from HKIS for a place in the coming semester, and are struggling about the move.

For HKIS, we are impressed with the facilities and teaching resources, and the fact it’s a well-established school in Hong Kong with a good track record of public exams, which is lacking in Malvern.

He’s a US passport holder but we don’t have discrete plans about his further studies yet (definitely university abroad but we won’t limit his options to the US)

Is it worth the move?

P.s. location and school fee are not big concerns.

Established, well track record is key.
i won't put my kids as bet.

我朋友佢係美國人，佢仔仔之前讀HKIS 中學，佢知我揾緊中學，但佢極力叫我唔好揀HKIS, 佢話間學校好商業, 佢好多嘢叫你喺學校買，普通文具明明街買都得，但一定要through 佢學校買，又成日叫家長比$，佢話比佢由頭揀過佢會揀早啲比個小朋友走去外國讀。（佢仔仔已經去咗Hawaii 讀）另外佢女朋友喺幾間is 教游水，佢女朋友話佢教過HKIS 同AIS嘅學生，明顯AIS 嘅小朋友乖啲有禮貌d, 佢話有兩個客嘅小朋友都由HKIS轉去AIS

以上都係朋友講返，建議聽咗有個底就算，相信每間IS 都有適合嘅學生讀

題外話不要鬧我，HKIS是比較美式的學校，我女有同學是美國人才7歲，真係會直呼我英文名，我認我老土真係有D唔慣

係呀，讀得IS 都預咗！
我朋友仲要住半山好有$美國人，有工人司機嗰d，可能佢哋外國人唔習慣呢套，寧願就算學費債券高一筆過比晒條氣反而gur d，都唔鍾意比人逐少逐樣yim d yim d

所以我覺得總有buy 學校嘅家長同學生，只係講定比樓主知心裏有個底
