I have undergone a very similar situation last year. I submitted a late application and my daughter was very lucky to have offered a place at prep before their summer holiday.
Have u tried ringing the school office?
I totally understand your situation as it is not easy to get into year 2 in most international schools if you dont have priority. Last year i have also applied for other new international schools.

I tried to call the school and make an appointment to submit the forms, however, they are now closed due to Christmas, but I will call again tomorrow..
May I asked did your daughter have an interview to received an offer?
One of the problem is my son can understand English, but he cannot speak fluently like a native English speaker.. I am worry he will fail even he get a chance to have an interview.
She had an interview for reception few years ago and didnt get an offer. So we went on with local school. She didnt have another interview before getting into prep.
I arranged english tuition at home (mainly for conversational English) and building up confidence in interim period.
Recently my girl got an prep offer with interview, there was 3 kids (including my girl) to conduct interview that day, I saw one of the boy and my girl got offer (i am not sure the other boy has offer or not, maybe just too many kids and I didnt recognize the kid's face )Later on my friend's girls got reception offer without any interview. So really difficult to know when will be the interview conducted.
We submitted our application in early 2017 for 2018 reception year, got the interview in Nov 2017, accepted for 2018 reception but we chose to only do 2019 preparatory year.

Hello, so AISHK gave you an offer in 2018, but you requested to start in 2019?
Yes because we were already going to a very good Kindy, while reception of AISHK seems to be more like a childcare centre only, and prep year is the first year of their primary section, hence we chose to stay where we were and only go in to their prep year this year

Did you need to take interview again when you gave up reception but preferred starting in prep?
No not at all, they told me reception only has two classes, and prep year has 4, probably because most people start from reception year so at the time they would have spots available in prep year, so they just put us in that year without having to do another round of interview.
