STC 今年这一阶是最x的！老师们也很有问，这些问题我两年前已经亲自跟STC的校长通电话反应过！STC 学生个个都是靠出去补习的！两年前我大儿子是IB 状元＇大仔当时也说今年这阶学生都没他们那年的水平高！

"Highlights of this year's results include:
● An impressive average score of 5.9 across all subjects."

It's interesting that average score across all subjects was announced but not the average IB score.  Last year was 37.  This year 42% of students got 40 or above, and the average I guess would be similar to last year's.

很多STC新入职的IB 老师水平很差！像新入职不久的Maths and chemistry 老师差到学生们都笑！资深老师大多数离职了！一言难尽啊

There was a decline in IB grade averages both globally and in Hong Kong in 2023 from 2022. The restoration of pre-pandemic grade boundaries by the IBO plays a significant role.

Recently quite a lot of experienced teachers left from ESF schools and not only STC.  Some even have new principals joining. Guess it’s similar issues faced by most IS in HK.

don't know, another esf school, South island, average grade across all subjects was 5.7 and the overall was 36+

EE + TOK 佔總分中3分，CAS只要滿足要求就可以，不計分。而EE 及TOK的計算方法頗複雜，可參考一下IBO網頁。

好明顯今年比舊年考得差好多。但咁樣報分好肉酸。好多人已知道舊年幾多分，好容易計得返今年幾多分啦。舊年應該係學生少，咁啱好彩考得高分。Malvern嘅Level未去到呢個分數,今年36點幾就差唔多。

唔計 一條龍小中學兩間RC/DC.（純粹因為分唔出佢小學開始入定係中學才開始入讀，所以唔特別講）


另外foundationSchool嗰啲有一半都係由小學讀上去。

一條龍DC 嗰個仲寫明由幼稚園讀上去

證明到唔係全部狀元都係本地學校轉入嚟。好多都係esf從細讀到大。

其實自細IS輕輕鬆鬆都一樣有競爭力㗎，GSIS校長啱啱都在小學畢業禮告訴家長，在中學畢業生中有一半都是從自己幼稚園升上去的，IS的小朋友歸屬感強流動性不是想像高。

CKY只係熱門學校，唔係神校又如何跌落神壇

今年平均分係跌得比較多，但唔能夠話差，亦有出1個45分，4成40分以上亦可接受，但Bilingual 比率跌得太多，做唔到佢一直堅持既中英並行

以往vsa中途插班也不算多，我兩個孩子不少同學一樣由幼稚園讀到畢業

我孩子那時走得最多係升year 9, 如去英國會入year 10, 大約走25%

global avg score 30分，其他直資最低分都係30分之上，cky 仲要唔止1人唔合格，危險！

我朋友孩子早年考係中英都要母語水平, cky bilingual diploma% 下跌已持續幾年, 今年差少少才7成又真係令人意外, 但去年又100%, 一般考生水平唔會一年間差咁遠

有兩個途徑取bilingual diploma:
1. Eng A (HL/SL) + Chi A (HL/SL)
2. Chi A +  Eng B+ subject 3/4 用英文考(即用考生2nd language考)

我理解cky 用途徑1, 有直資, 例如真道, 用途徑2

現實咁睇bilingual diploma 對考大學無乜幫助, 但這是cky一直以來其中一個強項

我孩子學校只計 1 係 bilingual diploma, 今年49%, 應該有同學考chi A + eng B， 但學校不計入公布的bilingual diploma

學校如何計 bilingual diploma, 可睇返學校有無公布, 或睇下subjects offered

cky 係private independent school, 政府規定收至少70% local students, ib 選擇語文應該按學生能力, bilingual diploma 係對考生一個認同, 什麼有fp可豁免我就未聽過

cky ib prospectus 有介紹language a and b 嘅分別, 原則上係按學生的language proficiency 和心儀大學學科有無subject requirements

選 language b HL, 即只須另選2科HL, 就可滿足3科HL要求, 選language a SL, 即要另選3科HL, 整體6科要求係高咗

每人選科考慮都唔同, 如果心儀神校神科, 就要盡取每一分

仲有personal statement, 再要睇每間大學和學科要求, 有些另有測考, 有些有interview

最重要係個entry requirements 係經過額外測考和面試後出嘅conditional offer, 申請時用predicted grade, 例如 Oxford typical offer 係 IB 38/45, 但如果predicted grade 38, 相信面試機會都無

Will the students be less competitive if he chooses Chinese B HL and 2 other subjects HL. As we know Chinese B HL is easier than Chinese A SL, supposing targeting at medicine. In ESF, students choosing Chinese B HL are required to take 3 other HL subjects.

ESF asking for 4 HLs is something new to me.
In the past, I know students targeting top US unis will take 4 HLs, including Chi B HL, to demonstrate that they welcome challenges.

For medicine, I think total score and interview performance are the key.

last year, my friend's son in west  island school took 4 HL including Chinese B HL. He was admitted by cuhk medicine.
He was an insert student and was not allowed to take Chinese B SL.

Chi B HL is still easier than Chi A SL
ESF would not, and I think cannot, allow a student from local school to take Chi B SL.  The former principal of my children's school would describe this as "cheating".  Local school is teaching Chi as a first language.

I heard even students not from LS, as long as they are Chinese, ESF will ask them to take Chi A. But Chi A is quite difficult, only Mainland Chinese students can handle it, so students will choose other European language instead. So I am struggling whether I should let’s my kid start learning European language now.

I guess supposingly you shouldn’t have much knowledge in a certain language in order to take the easier exam eg Language B SL, same for European language

ESF 會睇孩子的學習背景，而不是國籍背景去界定在IBDP時可以修讀Chi A or Chi B。
Chi A 是難，但仍然有同學可以做到；另外如果轉賽道去考French / Spanish B，其實也不容易。如果是考Initio ab level, 競爭也是非常激烈，因為個個都行呢條看似容易的門路。

上ibdp前一般係myp or gcse, 學校會有成績要求才可上ibdp, 一般又唔會要求好高

或者可考慮ibdp考試模式是否適合, dp 好多寫作要求, 又文又理,如孩子唔喜歡/唔善長寫作,又或偏理科, ib未必最合適, ib 最多只可兩科 science, 想考phy, chem, bio 三科理科就唔得

取唔到diploma唔一定低分,除了總分仲要對HL and SL subjects 有要求, 最極端情況,6科取42分滿分,但core 部分有一項fails, 已經取唔到,印象中見過ibo全球統計,35/36分取唔到 diploma

應該係唔少過24分：

識有不少IS的學生因為不適合考IB, 高中為考A level過英國，主要是比較偏的理科/數學資優生，另外也見過怕數學和理秤的文科生，選考A level只揀languages和音樂，大家都係揀返對自己最「有利」的學制。
