Learn traditional Chinese
And seems few mainlander

95% Hong Kong kids, 2% foreign and 3% native mandarin kids (Taiwan / PRC)
Caring school with good academic level
Good English level
Long school hours and location not convenient

Anfield Primary is a caring school. Their phonics and English level is good. Students are disciplined. It’s a small school so some people may think they are not as well equipped as those new international schools.

As a user I do think their initiative in promoting online learning at school has helped a bit in this school suspension time. Now we have English, maths and science lessons online, 2 lessons each week where interactive learning was done. Also lots of online resources and online learning tools are provided through email links, some of them were used in school lessons before so students are ready to pick up their learning at home. I am less worried about falling behind on academics when compared to local school kids.

They have priority in entering ICHK (after the 3 founder schools), most will be offered a seat there. But some will go to ESF, Harrow, or other schools of their choice. Of course there are few graduates in previous years (like 2x) while in the new year 1 class there are 6x students. Dunno if all 6x students can be guaranteed a place at ICHK when they graduate, need to wait and see.

Wow 3 times more than previous years. They open 2 more classes this year?

No, in previous years only 1 class of year 6 with 2x students. This year 2 classes of year 1, each 31 students. Some of them may leave but it's likely that spaces will be filled up again. So I expect 2 classes of year 6 with this cohort.

31 students! Is that the norm for all grades, or is it just because more people had accepted their offer than they expected last year?

It happened in year 1 19/20. For other grades there are less students.

I m the user too. Anfield is a good school which I will recommend to other parents. Maybe I have not expressed clearly that what I meant is some people may compare it’s hardware with the other international schools or new schools as Anfield is relatively small in terms of the size. We may not have something really fancy but we have good teachers and support from the school. Just like the e-learning in this critical time are running well for the students. Good reputation of Anfield and that’s why getting more people to apply.

Oh I see. So they will have two classes per year from now on... would they have enough classrooms? Wouldn’t it be very crowded if they double their number of students?
(We visited the school two years ago and plan to apply to it next year)

Heard that there will be a new campus for SEN stream in Yuen Long. If no SEN class at the current campus it should be fine. Now already 2 classes from Y1-4, 1.5 classes for Y5&6
