hi all
surprisingly just got R2 offer. would like to ask if any current HKIS R1 and R2 parents here? Can you share more about the school and why you like/dislike it?

HKIS has excellent counselling program. When did your kid have interviewed? R2 this fall?

we had assessment in end Feb. The result came out very quickly which is unexpected. so am still a bit lost now. Are you current HKIS parents?

Just wondering whether HKIS like kids whose first language is English. My son had assessment at the end of Feb for R1. Our first language is Cantonese.But haven’t gotten any notice yet. Congratulations to your girl😊

oh, I am not a current HKIS parent. Also applying for my kid this year. Would you mind to share how the assessment looked like and if there was a parent interview session during the same time as kids were assessed? How did the school conduct the parent interview? Thank you.

Thanks a lot for sharing. I just heard there is some kind of parent discussion (maybe not interview) during the interview time, so is there anything parents need to do during the interview assessment time?

Congratulations on your offers! My kid joined at upper primary age and we like the school very much. While I can’t provide much insights for lower grades, , if you have other questions, let me know! I feel that the school respects each child’s individuality and tries to teach them to be a responsible person. What I like most is, when there is a gap or area that warrants more attention (be it little things), they often offer solutions, school wise and family wise, so you can act on it rather than just acknowledging it. On the parent front, I can’t be thankful enough for their relentless effort to “teach” parents as well on the age appropriate parenting tips through workshops by counsellors or meetings with dedicated teachers. It’s important for the parent to “grow” with the child using the right tools.

We completed the assessment on Mar2. We always get very positive feedback from our HKIS parents friends. Hope to join the HKIS family!
