My daughter got the offer from Anfield Y1 and need to reply on 12 Feb 18
But ESF - CWB will announce around 14 Feb 18, any suggestion? If you were me , how to choose ?

45000 is not a small amount
Even u are interviewed, u are on the reserved list ( no priority ) . So, pls call the school (or email them ) to ask ur random number.
As I have said, if all NR holders , all kinder priority kids passed interview and accepted cwb offer , suppose no more seat for those without priority. However, every year there are some kids fail in assessment and some families choose RC or other IS, space will be available for those without priority. Call the school, ask them ur position on the queue then u will have a better picture

I have exactly same case with u , once my son got anfield year 1 offer , I sent a email to cancel CWB interview .I really don't want to take a risk if CWB will not give him offer. I applied these 2 schools for my son only

Yes , I live in TKO , if we take Anfield I may need to move or coz Anfield school bus 最近去到籃田 仲要6:30am , crazy !

The principal did not tell us the ratio, I just know anfield kinder students have priority to get offer, but anfield only have 2 class of year 1 , 25 students each class. Not enough offer for "outside"students

No, as I called ESF on Monday, they will issue email for result on 09 Feb, so I will wait but the admission office said if you have no priority and reserve list , if passed the interview still need to wait, so confused

If no priority and not esf kinder student, I will pay anfield first if I were you, or have you applied for other schools too like rchk? As most likely rchk will announce the result same day as esf

Cwb doesn't tell u ur random number ? For sjs, they tell us the random number so it is easy for us to estimate the chance

It is not confused, most of the spots are filled by those with priority. Only if they refuse to take the offer, the reserve list will move up

Honestly if not because of the priority, a lot of people will not have applied ESF kinder at all.

Frankly speaking, u cannot blame Esf. Everyone knows the priority game. Every school knows the result release date of Esf. Many schools set the payment deadline right before Esf.
If you plan well, you can have other cheaper backup. I am so sorry to say that.

actually anfield is not bad, and though troublesome, there is still good chance of switching to another IS later as many expats will leave hk in the middle of primary study, and to the worst situation, there is the ichk secondary.

我地的random number 係最尾果批（over 210) ，sjs 應該冇望。係架，Rc 收，係唔會冇書讀。但Rc 真係好絶，first round 冇俾offer 我地。一定有人說，Rc selective ，你小朋友唔夠人叻，冇offer 好合理。我只可以講，以往年的收生標準，我小朋友唔會冇first round offer ( 67% of esf kinder got first round RC offer in the past.) 我小朋友係講得好清楚assessment的過程，佢有答問題等等。再者，esf from k1 至k2 的progress report 也是很好，老師從來冇complain 或要我們上enhancement class. 平常上堂也是主動那一批。如果被RC 指，佢readiness 不及其他人而冇first round offer 的話，咁我冇野好講。不要安慰我遲早Rc 也會給我offer , RC '過我地一班冇選rc 為first choice 的家庭一棟'，我有其他offer 的時候，我應該更open minded 去作去選擇

I heard for some who put RC as first choice, even without priority, they got straight in after class observation and no need for interview.

其實每年sjs 也唔多人放位。有一些RC siblings 又好彩sjs 抽到好number 的人都放sjs. 其他住馬安山的，也大機會入Rc (但其實今年wks 有first round Rc offer 的，比往年少很多）.可能有家庭最後prefer RC, 但又冇first round offer , 而accept 左sjs

對於你的情況，我好了解，看開一點，最後RC會大量call waiting，不需要太擔心。不過有一點我不太明白，你不是不嬲都prefer RC多過SJS，為什麼在填survey時你不照直填揀RC做第一志願？有什麼考慮？

其實一直舉棋不定，今年才有這樣的survey , 天知原來咁樣用，感覺很差。雖然最後有RC offer 好機會很大，但已經付了其他本來係backup school 的deposit 了，再者，因為今年的admission 方法，對RC 的「偏見」愈來愈大。現在，我會去了解多些backup school(s) 多些，也是一個正面的方向。

如按你所說今年真的多「雙失」，我估計esf 試行one system 這制度測試，也俾出年報名既人，要諗清楚sjs 做priority, 可能有机會面對「雙失」局面。

其實RC的面試安排，有同學家長已經向wks 校長表示不滿。校長回答他並不知情，他應該不知道online survey 會被如此利用，如果知道，他應該會一早說明。

Wks 大部份人屬sjs catchment , 只可以報一間esf foundation school . 如果有得揀去cwb 當然好，cwb 收哂自己人仲可以收外來人。從來over 90% 入返esf /Rc/dc, 都係只"開學前", 不是指first round

題外話，我仔讀緊SJS，我唔覺得SJS學術比其他ESF小學好突出。可能我仔仲係Y1，而家讀咗半年，我覺得SJS教的都好淺。我check 過SJS 既 InCAS 同 ISA 成績同其他ESF小學比較，成績都是差不多，亦不見得特別標青。所以SC IB 成績好，究竟有幾多contribution from SJS，我都有好大疑問？始終考IB 已經係入咗中學7年後既事，當中有好多變數，父母背後發功又未知，小朋友突然間開竅又有可能，但係話因為入咗SJS 而可以有SC好成績，呢個可能係一個迷思。

中學IB成績其實係比較長遠嘅事。9-10年後整個ESF 或個別ESF表現係點真係完全估唔到。有經驗嘅家長可以告知大家10年前整個ESF 同個別ESF學校生態及表現係點嗎？
始終覺得ESF 各間小學其實差無幾。

I don't have any idea what is your waiting number so difficult to guess while u can ask school for any clues...while if I were u, Anfield is a good school though in order to secure an offer on hand in case the worst

Anfield kindergarten website只有k1 and k2, 如唔入自己小學或其他國際小學，要轉去其他幼稚園讀k3?

跟你住址，你上esf website check 下自己係那一個catchment . Wks 定ty 係冇分別，一樣的priority

我知道catchment~ 只係如果邊間k 都係一樣priority 既話, 而我又想讀sjs, 就可能會考慮搬

搬？有錢買NR 好過啦，assume sibling plus NR 約40-50人，咁只有kinder priority 的人抽到sjs (guarantee list ) 的% 是57% ( 以今年為例）。

要搬，搬去qbs catchment , 一定入到。入唔到sjs , 又失落於RC ，今年好多（以first round 計） 。
