We applied for Yr 1 (2018/2019) in April 2017 and got the interview invitation in Dec 2017.

My son speak Cantonese at home and with our helper and English at school.

He was very shy and didnt want to go in the interview room on the day.  No matter how hard the teacher tried to persuade him, he still didn't want to go.
At the end, the teacher said we can make use of the opportunity to familiarize him with the environment and schedule with another interview day.

He went in on the 2nd interview day and said he did a lot of talking with the teacher.

我們2015年5月報名的。哥哥説，面試什麼也沒考，只是做遊戲聽故事，很簡單。目前他們在國際幼兒園讀k3。中英都可以自己認讀一些。也可以默各50個字左右。數學可以100以內加減但是不熟練。我女兒在法語部，所以知道學校各年級都有雙胞胎。

May I ask for opinion?
we got offer from FIS reception class 2018/19, also got offer from Renaissance Collage year 1 class?
Personally RCHK is not my first priority, we like shatin junior more but we didn’t even have a chance to do interview.
For now, we accepted FIS offer but just realized Reception class is equal to K2 standard. What shall I do ? Anyone can give me some insight pls? Tks

但係因為佢已經讀K2, 會唔會重覆再讀簡單嘅課程咁好似遅左一年。但其實有法文...所以好矛盾. 唔清楚reception class 教D野幾簡單

相信你小朋友來自local kinder，所以有這想法。FIS 並不是太strict on 出生日期，我朋友2013 oct 出生，FIS offer year 1, 你可以試試問FIS 可否offer year one 給你。此外，國際學校kinder 大都是遊戲中學習，學習與人相處，verbal communication, 和培養學習態度為主，和local school 的世界很不同

你咪試下打去問可否轉yr 1, 今年yr 1多了位，如果佢認為你程度可以可能會比你轉。我不清楚FIS,因為有些程度深的學校會比較strict一定唔比，細B轉校要repeat.

how are the odds for non-foreign passport holders?

But I applied for Happy valley school not TKO is it not easy to transfer? TKO got a complete new class but Happy Valley not, am I right?

High chance to get interview if you apply now. We are local passports and still got offer, the few people I knew studying there are also local passports, so I think it’s not crucial. After opening of TKO campus, I feel that the chance is even higher.

我女兒係細B,讀完K2,今年再讀reception class, (之前間學校都係用IEYC),課程完全一樣，不過就見到佢有好大的進步，慶幸比佢讀多一年先上Year 1.（而FIS的k2,也比去年的K2深）
大部分人都係大b，,三月頭的小朋友，已經變成細B了。

但如果小朋友好醒目，好叻，可以試下問下學校,比佢試下考year 1, 不用浪費多一年時間。

Anyone knows how many seats will there be in reception and Year 1 respectively, after the tko campus is open?

I think there are 50 seats in each year from Reception to lower primary in JL campus currently, so mass intake is at Reception. I'm wondering if there will be more spaces for new joiners at Year 1 after the new campus opens. (I'm talking about 2-3 years from now, when the new campus is stabilized...not the 2018 intake where there's possibly a windfall)

You decided to go for CAIS? Seems many people giving up FIS TKO offer this year, at least 4-5 people I knew are not taking it. I think those on waiting list will have high chance

Individual debenture is $90000, mandatory, non transferable but fully refundable from the school.

Year 1 是插班, 要有人走先有機會. FIS entry point 是Reception.
