Anyone can share how discovery college is?

Is it true that their school buses don't really go to Kowloon?

When we went for the interview, they did say 75/ 85% of students live in disco bay, 10/15 % in Tung Chung (I can't remember the exact percentages, but they are around there) .

The school itself is amazing, I mean the facilities are excellent and that goes without saying, but more importantly you can tell it's run very well by passionate teachers and headmaster (from what I experienced on the school tour and on interview day)

The student body is quite diverse, there is a good percentage of Asians and other ethnicities, and from what I have been told (by people who live in discovery bay) the sense of community is quite strong both inside and outside of the school.

Yes the campus does look impressive just from the website. Bit disappointing that they pretty much just take students in that area though

I'm not sure if that is one of their selection criteria, because I know of a few families who don't live in Disco Bay but received offers from them, in the end some of the families declined because it is quite a journey to get there if you don't live on Lantau Island, those who accepted live along the Tung Chung MTR line (Tung Chung, Tsing Yi, or Olympic).

I think the fact that most of their students live in Disco Bay is more to do with outsiders not willing to travel than them not taking outsiders.

Yeah I guess, I had a look of their school bus routes and couldn't find anything outside of the islands....so that would definitely make it harder for anyone who lives in Kowloon to travel to the school

I think the same way. Every time I went there I love it more. However, one time snapshot experience may not be enough so I'd like to hear any parents who have kids in school sharing their experience as well.

One school bus operate by private company to Tsuen Wan. My kids took this school bus, if need more information, please PM me.

Quite a lot of students who live outside of Discovery bay such as Homantin, Tai Po, Ma On Shan, Tsuen Wan, Mongkok, Kwai Hing, Cheung Chau etc
I lived in Tai Wai but send my kid to Tsuen Wan to take school bus to D.C every morning.

Those who live in Tai Po and Ma On Shan and Cheung Chau etc can get up early to make the long journey, its just that people tend not to do it, that's why around 80% of DC students are from Disco Bay. The main point is, the 80% figure is not due to the school selecting its students by location.

Most of parents move to Discovery Bay or Tung Chung after get the offer from DC, that why the % is high.
