If you have the suitable combination of Subjects and Levels, I think interview should not be a problem.

Predicted score of 43/45 cannot earn an interview
But actual score of 43/45 can secure a place in med school!

According to the website, 44/45 qualifies for the global program. If you are not applying to global program, I think 43/45 have very high chance for interview.

It was 41 last year to get an interview at CUHK. HKU was 43.

That is a bit.....low.
Sorry, I do not mean judge what you said. But would that be just really one or two rare and exceptional cases?
I would have presumed at least 43 in general.
Anyone can confirm?
I am very curious.

You meant he had predicted grades of 41 and was invited to interview.
You said he did not get in.
Which scenario?
(1) Went to interview and got conditionsl offer, but his final grade did not meet the conditions.
(2) Went to interview but no offer.
I am very curious with the case. Since I have never so far heard that anyone with PG 41 can have interview.
And fact is, most students with 41 would probably not even bother to apply, anyway.

去年DSE41入到CU Med,IB43/45CU Med 係Yes.

Yes, my son told me that years ago Oxbridge could have offered EEE if they really like a student. But now he thinks the system is changed and this is not allowed. He now got an (non-medicine) offer near to his predicted grades but just a bit lower than them.
Not too sure about the system in HK.

Have they already sent the invitation to interview? Would the invitation be by phone or by mail?

I think if you have predicted score of 45, then the conditional offer for 43 is normal and fair for medicine.

I think many people mixed up PG (predicted grades), CO (conditional offer) and Final Grade.
It is always advantageous to high PG.

No sure. My son told me this happened many years ago, not in recent years. Whether one gets an interview and then an offer depends on whether the student got the right subjects for law, how high the LNAT score, ECAs, interview performance, personal statement etc etc . For Oxford, my son told me it's usually hard to get an interview but hit rate is a bit higher if one gets an interview. Yet, for Oxbridge, it is always the interview and admissions test that make it difficult to get an offer, not the IB results.
Entry Requirements- Conditional offers for students studying A levels range between A*A*A and AAA (or 38–40 points in the International Baccalaureate including core points, or another equivalent) depending on the subject.
- Specific A level (or equivalent) subjects may be required to apply for some subjects, especially in the sciences.
- Most subjects require applicants to sit a written test and/or submit written work as part of their application. Please note that separate registration is required for the admissions tests.
Anyways, not going to talk about oxbridge anymore as this topic is CU. Sorry 樓主

my friend's son had interview few years ago with the same score as yours. but I think CUHK interviewers are looking for those potential candidates with right mentality to manage situation instead of someone who is only bright at academic. The interview process determines that.
