有沒有收過WAIT LIST OFFER? 學校來信說考試合格，但又不是最TOP，又沒有比提名權，又沒有兄弟在校讀。
孩子考的是YEAR 6, 有沒有人有經驗分享?

如等到明年4月都無位，又要再比錢重新考過WRITTEN TEST，如WRITTEN LIST合格先有GROUP INTERVIEW.

真是一位難求!

圖中所見去年資料，year 5 升year 6只有2位學生離校，所以插班較難；但year 6 升year 7會有較大流動，相對容易點。

I asked the admission officer and she doesn't know how many places will be withdrawn in Year 6.

Not sure whether these has been misunderstanding.
At RC, there has never been anything called "IT class" at all.

We do not have an "IT department" as teaching staff.
The IT people (called the Red Door team) are in-house Apple computer service staff.  They provide in-house IT support and services to students and teachers.
These IT people are not teachers.

I was just trying to clarify that RC do not have ICT classes everyday.
Students use the computer as a tool.
They use the computer to type up homework, to research online, etc.
Teachers in primary section might spend a bit more time with teaching students how to research for information but I believe these are simple skills and can hardly be called "ICT classes everyday".
There are no special class hours that teach students how to use the computer, and there are no ICT classes that teach students coding or programming.
The ICT or IT Department are not teaching staff. They are merely computer support staff.
Hope this is not different from what you expected.

Since you have a son in year 7 already, then you should know better those are hardly "ICT classes".
Students use the computer as a "tool" only. They are hardly anything beyond a "computer user". Those that have better computer skills are those that are more keen to spend more time with using it. Other than this, I would not really think they are "strong in ICT" in anyway.
A person that drives a car everyday would never call himself an engineer.
So a child that uses the computer everyday should not be considered strong in ICT.
Not trying to challenge you in any way. Just thought that your stating that RC has ICT classes everyday was quite misleading and wanted to clarify.

All along, I was saying that RC does not have IT classes.
And I am surprised because you also said you have another son in RC, and you should know better.

唉，講到口水乾，RC 根本冇 IT 科。
一間學校過千人，有人用電腦用到好叻，但也有人只當電腦係工具。

RC在這幾年在資訊科技的運用和教學有好大進步。

Red Door搬去新大樓，服務除Apple Team電腦維修外，也有教學團隊和training。

Year 1開始已接觸電腦和iPad, Year 5已教授用電腦上的multi media, 各式presentation tools, 也會有Media Night由學生展示自己的學習心得和成果。

Year 5學期尾會有課外活動訓練有興趣學生，成功達標的在Year 6會成為Techic Ninja, 每星期會在Red Door做義工幫老師同學deal with IT problem, 也曾開班教授菲傭、家長電腦常䛊。

這些變化基於遇到一位小學老師精於資訊科技，最後他轉為technical consultant, 也統籌了不少活動。

另外，Year 6開始，每位學生就要買laptop, 所以每日上課、做功課少不了運用電腦；而PYP final project中不少同學會展示對資訊科技的專長，用coding寫program大有人在。

Year 7每cycle會有一科Digital Citizenship, 就是教授正確運用電腦的覌念和規矩。

運用電腦網絡是一個工具，也是一個開始，孩子的學習要多方面發展；RC有些地方比SJS優勝並不出奇，因SJS只是小學，校舍也不是最新。我曾到過KJS, 雖然是小學但新校舍設備一流，要開展各式教學會更得心應手。

學校發展要配合多方面，希望同學找到適合自己的學校。

我大仔當年是由傳統學校小三申請RC year four,排了差不多近一年，當中大喜大落的心情，因為試過兩次話有位，叫我再給他最近的成績表去學校，後來又話另一位同學較適合。學校話要找一位跟退學的同學，性別、背景都要一樣。
記得去到差不多三月，學校問我是否繼續排year 5,安排他再考試，當時已經諗定沒希望，只好繼續排，後來去到4月話有位了！所以你不用失望呀！

gogoBABY謝謝你的鼓勵。我個仔是WAITLIST OFFER，希望來緊會有位。

否則到了明年4月又要再比$1,200, 又要重新考過WRITTEN TEST，WRITTEN TEST過到關，先可去GROUP INTERVIEW。

考完合格又未必有位呢

真不知他內部是什麼要求。
