just called the school today they said will send out letters before Chinese new year..

we dont specially train my boy to go to the play session. my son is now attending other internation kinder, so his has good english listening and speaking, also we speak english at home, we mostly teach him through play, no stressful programs, always encourage him to try new things and appreciate him whatever a good or bad try.
he was doing great on that day as the interview time is 8:30am, my son never wake up at that timeslot, so we told him what and where will go tmr before the day, and told him we go PLAY!
On the day, i played music to mood him wake up and had his loving breakfast, then told him we will have fun in the school, just remind him to be good listening and speaking with teachers. greet to teachers ,etc,

when he arrived, he picked up story books himself and i read to him, then we went to the classroom and surprisingly he greeted to teachers and starts playing on the mat.
He explored everything in the classroom and played with teachers, and answered questions like: what color, where, do u like, and my son went to the white board and tried to draw numbers, letters, teacher asked him what he likes, and he got very good interaction in this part.
also, when teacher draw a circle and a triangle, she asked what‘s like? my boy said it‘s a cat and he asked the teacher to draw one more triangle on it. make it like a cat!

i think it‘s important that my boy do a special thing to all teachers as he had a big hug and kiss to say goodbye before he left , i didnt ask him to do but this is already a habit to him as he do this to everyone in sch and family in daily life.

i feel teachers are happy to see the kids are caring and show manner.

that‘s my sharing, doesnt mean this is a must what the school like~~~thx

My older one is in WKS K1 and my little one will start K1 this Aug. They both attended and attends Box Hill FOTAN .

I think put her in an English speaking environment in the PN period is good as she is already get used to Eng world and response naturally with ppls use Eng.

agree, also common eng environment at home is important.

as ESF is IB school, they prefer kids are more creative and explore the world, so traditional teaching method cannot motivate child to learn from ib structure.

Same here, still waiting the result. We called to school yesterday, staff said that they can't publish the results by phone. All the results will be sent out before CNY, whether offer, waiting or rejected.

Probably they send out the letters in few batches. Offering letter and waiting letter in high rank are sent first. After receiving the reply from them, they know how many seats are available and will send out the rest of the letters. I guess...the reject / waiting letters will arrive next week (if they said all letters will be sent before CNY is accurate)

shouldnt be many parents give up.as admin officer told that they already received 90% of offer letter till today.
and asked there are total 6 classes K1 in 2015. 3 am classes and 3 pm.classes only.

but not many people really want to go for IS, they just treat ESF kindy as a backup, as long as those local kindy call waiting, they will give up the spots later. 好多冇心讀又霸住個位, 令到好多想入既又冇得入
